What you are noticing are the massive Condi spikes that are a part of the current meta. Condos were never meant to dish out the amount of damage that they currently do all at once. This is why endure pain as well as several other skills do not stop condos and also part of the reason that death shroud is so overpowered. So yes endure pain is working as intended but condos are not.

What i usually do is activate Berserker stance and Endure pain at the same time and go suicide mode into a zerg !

can you get a recording of this? I’ve seen endure pain fail to proc in fights where it gets activated and one more hit gets through, but never have i seen it just fail completly to work.
This is really old post though. I’ve only noticed it in the past week that endure pain and berserker stance don’t block all damage when used together. I’m also taking damage and getting stunned and knocked back by enemies at range when I’m running away and I’m in the middle of a dodge roll (wasn’t a guardian trap)…. I should be invulnerable if I get halfway through a dodge roll should I not?

I’ve noticed it consistently since Vaans’ video, tbh.
The best guess I’ve heard so far is chalking it up to lag. I’m not sure exactly how the game keeps track of time, but if your actions and the actions of your opponents are time stamped when initiated and mediated through the server, it could be that the activation of the stances sometimes occurs later than when opponents initiated their skills.
Lag on either your connection to the server or theirs could thus make it appear that hits are getting through just after you used your stance (because technically they hit first, even if it doesn’t play out that way).
Don’t know if that’s it, but yes, Endure Pain in particular (due to its short duration) isn’t totally reliable.

I believe lifesteal procs can damage through endure pain. I don’t know if that is still the case or if only specific ones can do it (sigil of leeching is the example I remember.)

You may be simply hurting from retaliation in such case, it’s one of the damage type that goes through Endure Pain and Berserker Stance.
Endure Pain is bugged though, as others have pointed out. In Vaanss video, you can see Vaanss doing a 11.8k evisceration on a warrior, who has the Endure Pain buff timely activating. The server properly registers the skill, as it shows on Vaanss’ screen, so I believe this indicates a bug with the activation / stacking of the skill rather than some lag.
I’ve encountered this issue many times myself, it’s quite annoying as you make the effort to time your skill to counter a certain opponent’s attack, yet get hit. I reported it in game twice, but to no avail.

Yup,have this happening alot of times aswell.Going on for some months now.
Here’s proof of endure pain bugging out. You’ll notice I still down the warrior even when he’s in the middle of his endure pain. Our connections were good and there was no lag on the map since it was empty.
maybe its like a channeled skill and stealth thing going on, where if a skill is activated before the endure pain, it still lands?
