Evis has higher multiplier, its simple. If it did less, its prolly cuz u got glance, maybe revenant brief armor thing and prot from ele and paladin amulet, not cuz evis does little damage. And would then do even less in same situation. Evis’ better than autoattack unless you’ve got quickness.
Evis doesn’t become worse than other skills because you decided to use evis the same moment he had insane dmg reduction at that time where every other (non condi) skill would suffer an equal ammount.

1 bar adren: 2.0
2 -II- : 2.5
3 -II- : 3.0

While auto has 0.7 per hit and 1.5 for the final hit

Evis does more, arguebly u get more value out of autoattack vs bar 1, And quickness auto is god compared. But ultimately Evis does more dmg as usual.

I have checked the coefficients myself. Run the numbers multiple times. I will screenshot some eviscerates for you guys in matches.
That thing is at wet noodle status. I have not eviscerate for over like 4k in a while. Honestly, I thought it was a bug for a while.

I checked eviscerate coefficients vs vault.
Looked at the damage multiplier traits vs thief. If vault can crit hit 9k on a heavy, why can’t eviscerate?

I am not trying to lie about this, I am just pretty disappointed in the skill right now.
The 3/4 sec cast for a single hit, when the first two chains of axe auto also land in 3/4 sec interval, and give you 3 hits, it is almost a no brainer for me at this point.

The skill looks pretty on golems, but in practice, it has lost its potency.
EDIT: It is the defensive traits, not the offensive skill. Much more damage mitigation nowadays.

Yup. Just tested it. Evisc is currently not dodge-able. We discovered this today when we were getting hit by Evisc in duels when we know we evaded it.

[EDIT] Testing it some more. You can’t evade it entirely. It will go through warrior whirlwinds and mesmer’s blurred frenzy.

Honestly I find that not so bad if this would go for the Berserker abilities with a little adjusted skill dmg.
I was thinking just today that one the major aspects why warrior is weak atm is that there are too many blocks and Signet of Might has far too much cd to sacrifice it for something else.

I wonder if this change was intentional or merely a bug.

It used to do closer to 10-15k vs zerker builds if it landed. You could one shot zerker mesmers. Ahh… the good ol dayz….

It has to be a bug though. Block still prevents the Evis damage. No other mechanic in game does this.

However, it does mean that ANet was probably playing around with Warrior weapons again. So that is good and bad.

I actually came onto the Warrior forums hoping against hope that this wasn’t an actual bug and was just me being stupid/lag. Dueled a few wars since the patch (each one of them using Axe) and noticed that Evisc was hitting me through dodges. As a Thief player, this is… pretty broken, being unable to dodge something that melts half to 3/4 of my health.
I have no idea how Anet can miss this sort of thing.

It’d be totally legit to ask any warrior you’re dueling to not use the axe because of the bug (and he might not even know about it). It puts him in an inferior position against you than he’d be with a non-bugged axe, but bugged is just way too much of a cheesy advantage (at least, against a thief).

That is sorta my issue, I don’t want to have to ask people to switch away from builds (exceptions to stuff like ghost thief etc) because it means they have to run a build they might not be as proficient with which puts ME at an unfair advantage. Kinda a kittenty situation either way, hopefully it won’t take Anet a decade to fix it. In any case I won’t be using Axe on my own warrior until it is fixed.

I still run axe because of the dps. Plus most of my eviscerate usage is timed. I would say about 25% hit through dodge. And that is mainly due to 1v1 vs thief. In team fights it is rarely dodged. Mostly snared or blinded.

no wonder I’ve been fighting so many more axe warrior roamers =/

I played SAB a bit and even got bored of this.

I just realized that I caught the undodgeable eviscerate on video at the 4min and 20sec mark. It shows evaded but I still ate the full eviscerate damage =/

Coming up to 3 weeks bois, looks like we got ourselves a new evis perk.

I dont understand what im supposed to believe? That auto does more damage? No. Evis has higher coefficient, unless you have something that makes auto hit for more dmg, then evis strike doing more damage is definite. Only reason it did less was because of lower multiplier/higher mitigation. Maybe you got might stripper/gained and he lost/gained mitigation like entering earth for more toughness. I could say the same thing. 17 > 4 man. But it’s all situation.

Base direct damage is given by the following equation:

Damage done = (Weapon strength) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)

Higher coefficient = higher damage given the same mitigation and multipliers.

The singular hit of evis is definite to hit more then the singular hit of auto.

On to the other point, autoattack will mainly have higher total dmg if you are affected by quickness and/or 1 bar of adrenaline. However evis still at 1 bar will grant berserker’s power and a minor gap closer in the sense that you will gain dmg value through ‘casting’ during the gap closer. If I want to close that 300 gap whilst only autoattacking I will loose time damage value for executing 1 attack or 2 on your “way” as minor as it is. Vs Healing heavy classes like ele or druid, its also nice to burst down, because if u deal the damage over time (when he has 100%) he has bigger window to have regen to heal him wich he wont if he has 100% and instant loss of the chunk of health.

I agree when you have quickness you want to rather autoattack because evis isn’t affected by it. However in normal situations 2 bar / 3 bar always deals more dmg than auto. And the listed merits of eviscerate is reason to use it at 1 bar aswell.

And of course, evis SINGULAR HIT does always more than auto SINGULAR HIT due to its coefficient.

I’ve seen a suggestion about making eviscerate go through blinds. Maybe they were playing around making it unblockable and unmissable. Although, makingt it unevadable was unintended.
