I just bought GW2 a few days ago, so this may be a rough sample of a build I am doing. Just need someone experienced to critic it, so I won’t go the wrong way.

I’m going for Axe/Axe for Eviscerate, Whirling Axe and Crit DPS, and Hammer for Interrupts.

What I want to do is to be able to accumulate Adrenaline while Eviscerate cools down, and spam Eviscerate while having decent DPS backed up with enough survivability.

Thank you in advance!

Very briefly, I think you’ve focussed a bit too much on Adrenaline generation. With axes in particular, you’ll fill your Adrenaline bar quickly and easily. With a high crit rate, even just between the axe auto-attack, Whirling Axes with the Sharpened Axes skill you’ll have plenty. So I would swap some of those Adrenaline traits for more useful ones. Here are a few of suggestions you could try:

Take Signet Mastery instead of Thrill of the Kill – instead of gaining a little more Adrenaline when you make a kill, you have the insta-fill Signet of Fury, on demand, on a reduced cooldown. (I think Signet Mastery is essential for the Signet of Rage as well.)

Drop Embrace the Pain and take Burst Mastery – take those 10 points out of Defence and put them into Discipline. If you’re looking to spam Eviscerate then this is an obvious choice.

Lastly, I’d take 10 points out of Arms and put it into Strength for Axe Mastery – 10% more critical damage for the axes. (The axe auto-attack is excellent. Chop-chop-chop-chop-chop-chop-chop!)

But really, the more you play the class the more you’ll naturally evolve a play-style that works for you, tweaking and trying out different skills and traits as you go along.

I hope my suggestions are helpful to you. Don’t be afraid of altering your build as you go – there isn’t really a wrong way and if something’s not working for you, just change it!

Duly noted. Thanks for the very informative tip. I totally forgot that Eviscerate also has a cooldown, that’s why I put so much on adrenaline generation.

Check this out. It is a bit more viable than a dual axe build but you still get two axes in the build

If you’re going for a build focused on Eviscerate, I recommend a trait set up like 30/10/0/0/30.

Strength: V, VIII, X

Arms: VI for Vigor

Discipline: V, VI or VII, and XI (XI is key here to let you do Eviscerate 20% more often and you use 33% less adrenaline so you don’t have to worry about building it up as much).

Hammer is a good second weapon choice, the CC can come in handy.

Utility skills I’d use are Healing Surge, For Great Justice, Banner of Discipline, and Berserker Stance.

You can start the fight by hitting Berserker Stance to build up adrenaline and hit Eviscerate when it has 1-2 ticks left (gives half a bar every tick) and if you do that you’ll get an extra bar of adrenaline on top of the 1 you’ll have left over from trait XI in Discipline. So you’ll already have 2 bars total toward your next Eviscerate which is on an 8 second cool down.

Could also build up Adrenaline normally>Eviscerate>Berserker Stance>switch to Hammer>Earth Shaker>switch back>with another Eviscerate ready to go or soon will be

This would be for PvE, doubt it would be effective in PvP
