PVP pov: Berserker = Condi, too bad..
Sword+torch & Longbow?
I like the idea..
See? It’s just a matter of taste.
I actually wasn’t a fan of getting torch but what I’ve read so far sounds really cool, tbh
@nicknamenick :
Torch being a condition weapon is just a conjecture from you , so pls no drama before the skills are even leaked.
and saying "you don’t want taunt when using a range weapon " is ridiculous.
You can even rupt the guardians heal etc. with it – just one example of 100 -how to use taunt. The fewest rangers are using only taunt when being melee.

I actually found torch to be a hybrid wepaon which can be used by both specs. Sure it has some condi, sure it doesnt hit for 500k, but the datamined skill seems to hit more than autoatk+provides atk speed bonus. I think that spec will be similiar to reaper where both types of damage will be viable. And current f1 bursts may be completely gone and replaced..as there is a mention of “berserk bursts”

Doesn’t matter taunt or not. The way I see it taunt is simple x seconds CC. Works like an interrupt forces enemy to move and gets him away from whatever he is doing so it’s not bad if cost/cd is proper.
love condi, hope it helps with condi a lot. condi is the future of dps anyway, a lot of sinister builds are close to, or surpassing power now. Condi also opens up more types of gameplay. I dunno how people can be opposed to this…. doesnt just power/pre/feroc get boring?
btw why WOULDNT you want to use taunt with longbow? you dont taunt to get hit, you taunt to stop others from getting hit
If you don’t like condi you have many other options on Warrior.
Taunt with LB sounds like a very easy way of landing Pin Down and a point blank Fan of Fire. If they’re low you could even go for a Final Thrust if you have sword.
Old Man Burr (War), Bad Hat Ben (Engi), Manly Manny Manson (Guard)
You don’t need to be top dps, you just need to be fast enough that finding another class will take longer than just starting the content.
Even if Torch is a weapon that only condi users would want… so? Warrior condi builds are bad in PvE and PvP right now hopefully Torch is what they need. Warrior direct damage builds, I’m certain, will have something interesting to gain from the traits and utility skills even if Torch isn’t their thing.

But isn’t condi just the same expect ferocity becomes condition. I hardly play condi out side of pvp but with the exception of certain utilities, traits and weapons it’s pretty much seems like the exact same play style. Sure you could go tanky condi but then you will probably be kicked for your damage output.

This is a very shallow way of looking at it. When you have the ability to apply conditions, it’s a completely different method of dealing damage. Yes, you’re changing one of your stats to another, but that’s as far as your analogy goes.
Tanky condi is what necros do. It’s what guards do. It’s what rangers do, etc. There are many viable condi tanks. Settler’s with shouts and X/LB is a very viable spec in PvP right now. I like using sword/axe, sword/sword, and GS. LB is a necessity.

This comment was a response about condi in pve. If Sinister was meta people would complain about the same things they complain about in the zerk meta. Conditions would not change this at all. So for people thinking that moving towards condi would solve these issues, it wouldn’t. Furthermore sure you can go condi tank but be prepared to be kicked from current content pvp wise. For example, sinister engi contributes more to dungeons than rabid/dire engis every could.
They posted info about Warrior Elite Spec?
If so, share link pls…

No corruptions but I will look forward to it.

We’ve already seen that some condi specs can do more DPS than the power based ones (see engi), so I wouldn’t mind if a condi/sinister berserker became one of the pve meta builds.

Well if i like condi spec i wouldnt made a warrior.. and i wouldnt called it Berserker also..
I still find condi cheese mode, such a shame! warrior will join the rest of the lame condi specs.
Who knows… Who knows…
May be ArcAS hom 2h will give 10might to you Eves fom Axe will apply 20vulner and 2H Hammer will Steal/clear 2 boons from enemies

Where do you see berserker being a condi class?
“The first is focused on brawling by providing benefits for going berserk and to help gather up enemies. The second category focuses on burning and condition damage. The final category focuses on the Berserker’s unstoppable nature by adding healing options and stun breaks.”
One line for condi, one for power, one for sustain.

It reads more like control/condi/sustain.
OP’s reaction is highly enternaining.
As if warrior needs more power-based weapons
The transformation itself is supposed to have increased attack speed iirc from a datamined post on reddit, which would be a DPS increase for both power and condi builds.
Right now there is no circumstance in which condi builds are higher DPS than power builds for warrior in PvE so don’t freak out about it.

What’s the point of adding condition based stuff if it’s not going to be used anyway?

They’re trying to make condi viable so people can actually run builds with it. Problem is there weren’t many people asking for that.

Please do, and make sure you maintain that smug sense of self importance that’s so very alluring, it just makes me want to listen to you all day long.
In the meantime you can either continue to be coy and tease us or you could enlighten us all with your boundless wisdom.

Condition were always subpar in every aspect of the game except solo roaming multiple changes happen they raised the cap, changed scaling, made all damaging one stack, vulnerability now affects it,mobs were designed for it etc. Both the GW2 discussion and HoT sections used to be filled with threads on conditions for PvE.
Saying a lot of people didn’t ask for it is a false opinion.

Point taken, however it just feels like ArenaNet are ignoring many of the other more pressing things warriors have been asking for such as; a more balanced approach to adrenaline decay, a counter to blind spam, or even just bug fixes (how about just fixing Earthshaker so it simply effects players on any sort of a incline) it feels a little disingenuous to ignore all that so ANet can continue to try and make conditions a viable alternative for power for every class (which isn’t in itself a terrible thing it just needs to be prioritized better).
I understand that with the change to condition caps condi has become a lot more intriguing but I’d rather see them address some of the other major issues of the class before they change things so they can tic off another box for condi viability on their list.

Every class is like that currently or has always been like that but we can definitely agree that their priorities are strange. HoT seems on top right now.

Easily fixed!!!
Why not ignore the condi aspect of the berserker? Focus on direct damage as I really doubt that Berserker would be 100% condi since this opposes the current Warrior concept. You seem to have done so (and its absolutely valid) this far.
As a sidenote, I don’t understand how you categorize all Warrior condi builds as “cheese mode” when most go the other way (for some reason) and are able to 1-shot certain profs.
Because The Conditioner sounds worse.
HoT = WvW players forced to PVE
Who says Berserker is condi only? Read the following from the preview. Only 1 category seems to revolve about condi damage.
‘’Berserker traits fall into three categories, each augmenting a different aspect of the berserker. The first line is focused on brawling and provides benefits for being in berserk mode and tools for gathering up enemies to slaughter. The second line has augments for burning and condition damage, allowing you to set more foes on fire more often. The final line emphasizes the berserker’s unstoppable nature, adding healing options and stun breaks to help you survive when in the thick of battle.’’
The warrior can actually do everything, the only exeption is condition damage, a side where the warrior lack of efficence.
That’s the reason why Anet chose to make a condition based class.
To deal damage you already have GS/Axe+mace
To be bunker you have already Mace+shield/hammer
to be support you have banners that apply perma regen
to be hybrid you have sword+warhorn / LB
Youcan do enything.
What do you want? A specializzation that do something that you can already do in a very great way?
Or a new way to follow to deal high damage and try a total new playstile?
Berserker does not appear to be condi only, only torch does, and we needed an extra weapon for condis so there is one.
Wild Blow does dot appear to be condi.
One of the trait line is said to buff berserk and physical skills, another makes you tankier. Only one is said to be condi.
Mace is getting condis which is kind of wierd because it’s our tank/cc main hand, but perhaps one of the condis is taunt or weakness, which would fit. I very rarely pvp so not sure how good that would be.
Right now there is no circumstance in which condi builds are higher DPS than power builds for warrior in PvE so don’t freak out about it.

He said in PvE. PvE is not even 50% of the game. In competitive play, it’s a very big deal. Us PvP and WvW players are taking this announcement very seriously.
did the op even read the post? torch and one of the trait lines are the only ones that has anything to do with condi, other than that berserker looks kittenin dope. wish they’d have a beta open to the public cause i want to try it out.
