Re-roll warrior to learn the class properly?
Hi
It sounds like you are a casual player. So it´s best to stick to one class to train it and adapt the build and equipment to your playstyle. It does not matter what you play, it matters what have fun to play and can handle. I have great success doing that with ele and after a year i started to practise warrior for a change but still main ele.
For warrior using GS and defence traitline should be easy to play. I find it smooth with a strength/defence/berserker using pack rune and power/precision/toughness/ferocity mix gear. (GS + Sw(or axe)/warhorn)

Unless you’re looking to reskin your warrior, I don’t see much point in rerolling it. If you want to get comfy with warrior, just pick it up and play, and experiment with all the weapons and trait lines as you explore the world and scoop up hero points. By the time you hit 80, you’ll have enough to fill all the core traits and that opens everything up.
Also, some things to consider, as you’re filling out your build for any class, do you have:
Decent damage?
Condition removal?
Decent toughness/sustain or sufficient blocks/dodges?
Range for when melee heat is too much?
Stun breaks? (sigh…)
A solo roaming/survival build really should have all of those in HoT. Vanilla Tyria let players get away with much higher damage output and Berserker gear, but the jungle is going to take some getting used to.

I already have everything unlocked, including berserker trait line, wild abandon collection is progressing. So no getting comfy with anything. I somehow feel like I got the whole learning curve wrong. Learning to play Necro and Engi felt somehow more effective than my first go with my Warrior.
But I made up my mind. Since all I did so far was raising humans, I’ll roll a Norn Warrior (mainly for the beer feast mentality and the cultural armor skins) and learn Warrior again “from scratch” but with all the knowledge and understanding of the game I have right now (but didn’t have one year ago). Hopefully, refreshing my “Warrior 101” course, will make me rethink and respec my Main. Would be a shame to actually drop it for the wrong reasons.
HoT content is designed to be harder. Starting from scratch won’t change this. If you’re dying a lot this might be due to:
1. A big part of the content in this map is intended to be cleared by large groups and right now everyone is… Yes in the Mad King’s Labyrinth. I asume that once the halloween event is over players will return to HoT maps, thereby you will die less/ get resurrected more often.
2. Take a look at your build and the weapons you are using. A long range weapon weapon might come handy (LB for condition build, Rifle for power build). There’s nothing wrong in adding some survivability to your build if you are dying too often. Defense traitline will always be there.
3. Level your masteries. They help you a lot to clear the content and some are required to access to certain parts/content. There is a thread somewhere that says what to prioritize when you start.
4. Some food can help you. I recommend Mango Pie (this plus healing signet makes you almost an immortal warrior) or Omnomberry Ghost if you have a high crit chance.
Don’t give up! just adapt, remember that “the jungle provides”.
NumenorLord, thank you. That was the kind of answer I was hoping for: logical, structured and comprehensible.
I think the problem is, that most parts of PvE play similarly and allow you to get by with the very same layout all the time and when it’s finally time to adapt, you screw up for lack of experience in adapting.
