Dishonourable debuff is not enough.
Need more features and heavier penalties for players who
1)gives up and log out during match,
2)gives up and goes away from keyboard during match but stays in the map
3)doesn’t even participate in the match right from the start. (AFK all the way)
4) using a mule account and main account to enter tpvp with 2 players, if mule and main is in same team,play as per normal,if mule and main is in opposing team, let the mule account afk for easier win on main account.

This 4 issue should be addressed to ensure the game is not ruined for others due to bad sportsmanship/griefing/rigging matches.

Please share your ideas on how to further improve on handling of these 4 issues, below are mine.

To solve issue 2
Detecting afk- just like daily participation games of sanctum sprinter/keg brawl,etc,if ur inactive for a certain period,the game recognises it and issue u a warning that will lead to logging out. this detection feature should be applied to tpvp as well but in a different manner. If a player is inactive during a match for 30 seconds for example,the player will get a warning and 5 seconds to move .If player is active within 5 seconds,he gets a yellow card debuff that is visible to everyone but is only an indicator. If player remains inactive after 5 seconds,he gets a red card debuff that is visible to everyone but is only an indicator. 2 yellow cards will result in 1 red card.
those with red cards cannot join another tpvp match within 24hours.
This does not replace dishonourable debuff.

To solve issue 3
Pre match AFK check- once 10 ppl are formed, a confirmation box lasting 1 minute is given if u want to participate. Those who never confirm will be booted out of the solo queue,and someone else will replace that slot.Those who confirm will get an info box with X/10 confirmation,awaiting 10 confirmation,where X is the current number of ready players. Once 10 confirmation is received, another pop up is prompted to start the match.
The reason for 2nd prompt is because those who confirmed early and waiting for replacement,might be afk after the first confirmation.
Whoever doesn’t confirm 2nd prompt will be booted out of solo queue and a replacement will need to be searched again.
Once all 10 ppl has confirmed twice,they get warped into the map and will have 1 minute before the match starts.
This feauture should solve the problem of afk players at start of match.

Oh, silly me!

The solution to #4 is already built into the MMR System.
Sure they can do this now, but eventually the disparity between their wins/losses will become too big and their MMR will prevent them from getting in matches together. When the MMRs of individuals become more founded and we start getting more people queuing, this should become a non-issue.

Yups,i agree with you that the MMR can prevent this to a certain extent but unfortunately,due to low population of spvp and when playing at certain hours,the amount of ppl queing is so low that the MMR does not become effective. As justin ODell has said,the range expands the longer a player has been waiting. So we need a harsher penalty for this kind of sabotage to effectively stop it from being used further.

We use Glicko2 for our MMR. When updating your MMR, we base it off the average MMR for the opposing team.

The current matchmaking will find 2 sets of 5 players that have are within each others MMR range. That range expands the longer a player has been waiting.

I’ve noticed this quite often when the popular maps and lion arch is nearly deserted and my tpvp queue is very long, a stray rabbit will end up in the match surrounded by shark,bears,tigers. Pretty sure the MMR has expanded alot hehe low population is killing the MMR

I’d assume that the best fix is getting MORE people into PvP!
