Q:

Anyone who caught Sízer’s s/d specc? I remember s/d-lb with fire/air and air/energy
2/0/0/6/6 but not which traits he took.
Haven’t played thief in quite some time and had hoped that would be a good starting point to get into it again.

A:

Sizer ?

he was running 2-0-0-6-6, a quite common build

sigils on shortbow are of your choice, you can even run air/fire.

You can also run the same build with 30 in critical strikes.

it’s a matter of choices: more damage or stab stomp/ress interrupts.

Not a common build, first time I see it in a tournament.

Not a common build, first time I see it in a tournament.

it’s played a lot in 1vs1 servers though.

It’s all about having the guts to play a different build, just like zapdos is doing right now with staff ele ( or niah with the survival build).

15th balance patch has opened tons of possibilities, most teams preferred to run with the “easiest” choice.

I’m sure that as more teams join the community we’ll see tons of innovation.

People used to have to put 30 in Crit tree for damage but with the new Runes/Sigils they can spec for utility only.

Easiest choice being s/p like the one sensotix runs?
Which one is considered to be more effective in teamfights?

that S/D variant is very strong 1vs1 but weaker to other thief sustain builds ( like S/P or CS S/D), i would consider that build stronger in team q than standard S/D build but again it’s a matter of choices, CS S/D would be better in a high dps comp ( for example).

Imo S/P trickery still rules supreme while having very good 1vs1 capabilities as well, but again, it’s a matter of choices: S/D builds are very hardly counterable while S/P can be countered and outplayed.

i take it standard s/d and s/p both have 2/6/0/0/6
—> what traits are used and do both speccs use the same?

also: you mentioned stab stomps; how can i get stab without usage of LS?

You can interrupt stab stomp/resses with sleight of hand + bountiful theft.

S/D trickery is bad, S/D is good only when paired with acrobatics.

As traits are concerned, look at the build link i posted.

CS traits are of your choice, aside executioner.
