11/9 Sigh SBI vs. BG vs. JQ again....
[Rage] Smelly Tree Sap — Band Camp Babe — Bannned Character--Spooner
If you bothered to actually read what was said in those threads, it was never proposed. The only suggested alliance was to punish orb hacking cheats. And even if such an alliance were to have happened, the guy who floated the idea, likely wouldn’t have kept to it as there are certain players/guilds on opposing server that are kill on sight from long standing/multi-game rivalries.
Also suggesting 2V1 is laughable. JQ was bossing the BL’s for long periods over the weekend. There were multiple times where JQ had pushed SBI and BG off a BL map. SBI and BG were both within a thousand points of each other until late Saturday night when SBI finally got their kitten together and started playing smart. (Choo Choo band wagoners and unknown random commanders were doing stupid crap and not coordinating very well. Really hurt SBI Friday night and into Saturday afternoon.)
Anyone got a score update? Never got a chance to log in this morning to look at it.
not sure if lovely WM players recovered from hangover in GStar party or something like that ^ our borderlands now green again, and sbi pushing jq borderland hard.

First off to HB on JQ BL. All yuo did was turtle my group of ten people. All 30 of you, turtled just to kill my group of ten. That is the extent of how much we fought you. And when we finally decided to push, you were gone. So… meh. Was not too impressed. I’m sorry, but the wrongness of your claims is insulting. SBI and BG teamed up on JQ (who at the start of the campaign, owned the entire map.) And we pushed them back. We pushed them all the way back to a single tower. Tower was on BG’s side of the map, and yet they failed to take it. And note, SBI had outmanned throughout all of this. (get sick of people claiming outmanned as an excuse) After awhile, JQ starting pushing us both back. BG lost Garrison, SBI lost DE. And then SBI and JQ duked it out for a very long time. The only attacks BG had against them were my small 10 man group, trying to ninja things. Stop pretending it took 3 hours. It took 3 hours of ignoring you, and when we finally pushed, you cracked like an egg and left the map. So I am sorry, but speak the truth. Lies are not appreciated Mr. Steadfast.
Cool storry bro. Fact is we took your fully upgraded Bay and Garrison alongside RK in the EU primetime, and both had atleast 30 defenders.
Second later in the evening ( NA primetime ) We at no point had more than 18 in WvW. Yes we did turtle, and yes we did kick your a.. 10 of you, you say? So Fire, Foo and the other JQ guilds that were pushing garrison and Bay did nothing?
We managed to hold Bay for hours while outmanned, and in the end we lost it due to SBI attacking from the south, and JQ from the north. It is a solid tactic to attack an enemy when you see the outmanned buff on them. We do it aswel. Just dont fool yourself to believe that your “10 man group” had anything to do with it.
Great 3 way fights in JQ BL all day. Cheers to both JQ and SBI for the fun.
Here´s a small video I made of tonights fight:

The push started late Saturday afternoon/night, then dropped for some of Sunday morning (EU football matches and American football), then returned for Sunday evening. When I logged off, ~10pm PST, we were 100+ PPT over JQ and BG. I don’t know if WM was out in force last night or not, but I didn’t see them prior to logging. (If you get the chance, tag along with them and learn, they’ve got some freaking awesome commanders.)

Well the weekend wars of even numbers is over, now the Coverage wars begin. A lot of people will stop playing during the weekdays, not nearly as much fun as during the weekends.
@Yerffejy.6538
You only see what happens on your side.
We could care less about your 10 man group, we kill the enemy team, either one.
The fact that you think we were chasing your 10 man group just shows how ignorant you are.
We were fighting JQ most of the time.
And guess what when you sieged RB, we were defending Bay against like what 40~60JQ, with the 8~10 people that we had left online at that time.
HB’s main team is still mostly from EU timezone.
You do realize it was 2~4am EU time…
No one rand from your 10 man group, people just have to sleep.

Blackgate players that have been playing on SBI BL this week, you have earned my respect. You guys must have bought a playbook from somewhere, or decided to stop following a bad commanders advice, because you guys, with the small numbers you have, are pulling off some amazing plays. Not only that, but you are using your head, and attacking JQ now, who is in first place, and not solely focusing on SBI. (not claiming we’re 2v1 poor JQ, cause as soon as we push them back to nothing BG comes right after us for more points).
Keep up the good fights!!
Thor from URGE did an awesome job of leading in SBI BL this weekend. BG is mostly a server of PuGs and more casual WvW/PvE types, and his ability to communicate over /t was the secret to our success. It’s something I hope to see more of our commanders start doing.

No. My group ran from you. I wasn’t implying that people ran from us.
I was just sad that the BG presence left the map.
Another infernal week with SBI and JQ again….
If we lose this week we out of T1 for abit
Well the PVE event this time will be Lost shores and will probably knock BG players out just like Halloween again…
No this is a false excuse for tanking the match this week. There have been no events during the last match with the server being completely full. The lack of turnout in WvW is not due to holiday events. My perspective being from NA primetime.
Either BG is bulging to the gills in mostly PvE care bears, people on break finals maybe? or purposely trying to let BG drop a tier.
I’m still willing to bet the total PvP population overall is less than 10% of the total player base. Thus the effort being put out for more PvE content over fixing PvP issues.

And back to the weekday warriors. The smart BG players left and its back to the random lets attack everything that lives and try to interrupt everything then leave strategy guys.
This is why BG suffers from point loss so hard. These guys mess things up for the ones that actually try hard.

It’s more that the “weekend” players have jobs, and the people you are facing are outnumbered and most are just playing WvW to attack and get experience to level their alts.
I think most of blackgate just wants to go to T2. We want IoJ more than anyone else, and even trying to win just prolongs this annoying 2v1 matchup for another week. Not saying people have given up, but they’re playing for fun, not for wins apparently.
You know why you keep losing JQ? Because I just went in to the EB JP and saw 30 of you there camped out locking the place down. This nets you nothing and SBI will win again because of your absolutely ridiculously poor choices of “tactics”.

There’s one commander on EB who dedicates his time to grub farming and sieging the puzzle. We call him a troll, but unfortunately he brings his friends and they try to rally people there non stop in chat. They then waste our already low amount of supplies on building siege.
Frankly, it’s not what we want either. The actual commanders try to run strategies, but there’s just lack of numbers and unnecessary stress among us because of this.

This happens to SBI back in the day when facing HoD. ppl trolling on grubs and jumping puzzle, give no shot about either taking or defending towers, keeps. All of a sudden these drama gone when SBI fall to tier 2, and appears again when back to T1. After many times of this loop, not sure if they fed up or really learned to play wvw, it’s quite rare to see it happen again. Yes, rare, I mean even when we are green we still got a lot of ppl killing grub when they should be sieging bravost or durios.

There’s a difference between being distracted by the grub and spamming for the grub and organized griefing non-grubbers.
There’s a difference between doing the jump puzzle and staging a force to deploy rams in the jump puzzle and drain supply from all the camps and towers.
There’s a difference.
You guys think blackgate will trade spots with SoS next week?
Thx blackgate for sitting at Bay and letting us win by 100k by the time u leave.

T1 is in a sad state. What a disappointment it will be for whoever replaces us next week.
Before we got to T1, I was hyped up for the challenge of facing what was believed to be the 2 best servers and thus, the best competition. Now, in the 3rd week, it is obvious this is not the case.
SBI – You aren’t winning because of superior tactics, better or more skilled players, or better leadership. Your zerg is just bigger than everyone else’s. An entire server basically riding the coattails of their 1 big pvp guild WM, and the fact they are the only server with any major oceanic presence. You’ve got people on your server who come to the forums bragging that their 30 man force drove back our 10 man force. Well, I’d certainly hope your 30 man squad could handle a whole 10 people, otherwise that would say a lot about the level of skill you possess. BG is basically fielding teams on BGBL and EBG. We have less than 20 people on JQBL or SBIBL at any given time, but these are the places you always hear about “SBI steamrolling BG”.
SBI also has the vast majority of the bandwagon WvW guilds that used to be on BG. Its been pretty obvious in the fights during NA primetime. So yeah, all those people you spent the first 2 weeks insulting..? Thats right, they’re on your server now.
JQ – If your leaders were even semi-intelligent, you all would be pushing hard against SBI, as the only way you all can come in first place this week is by denying them points. But this will not happen. JQ will once again put in minimal effort for the rest of the week to come in 2nd place, because fighting SBI (and I quote JQ players here) would be “too hard”. Thats a great attitude to have in a competitive setting.
So yes, enjoy your stay in T1, whoever is next in line for it. Any effort you put into siege and upgrading towers during the day will be for nothing as SBI’s korean presence will easily snatch up anything your skeleton crew is trying to defend. Thats not demoralizing at all. Putting time and effort into taking over a map for hours just to have all your effort go to waste when you have to go to sleep. Then all of their NA players will rush to the forums to take credit for something they had nothing to do with. As for JQ, well, dont pay much attention to them. They’re only fighting to stay in T1, not for first place. :P

Actually, if SoS does move up this next week, they have excellent coverage most all the time. They are aggressive and strategic. Yes, they irritate me to no end, but it does not take away from the fact that I think they will give tier 1 a good go.
I also believe that if BG drops down to tier 2 , we will have our work cut out for us.
SBI in the lead after overcoming a 16k point differential in approximately 12 hours
Not really surprising. Many have already noticed the pattern. Noticed that the difference in points is usually made during the weekdays. Many have already said that the real battle is during the weekends and then it’s a coverage war during the weekdays. SBI currently has a night time crew that other servers cannot match (similar to how HOD was dominating during its prime).
JQ – If your leaders were even semi-intelligent, you all would be pushing hard against SBI, as the only way you all can come in first place this week is by denying them points. Typically when one “quotes” someone else, they provide the citation. I would like the citation to your “quote” (or paraphrase). Ideally it would be a quote from more than JQ player…since well, 1 single player on an entire server doesn’t really speak for the whole team.
As for my experience on JQ (I’m in FIRE, we play in one borderland a week) no one ever talks about who would be “easier” to take on or not. Our leaders look at the map we are on, and decide what seems most vulnerable on the map at the time. If you seem to think we keep attacking you over SBI, perhaps it is because your holdings appear more vulnerable, more often? As for my first-hand experience, I was gone again this weekend but got back yesterday. My time playing last night involved attacking an SBI tower 2 or 3 times, an SBI keep once, a BG tower once and the Garrison (owned by BG) once. That seems to favor attacking SBI, but maybe my math is wrong and I need you to explain my team’s “strategy” to me?

Reposting for the zillionth time:
1. LOL
2. There is no point blaming any server but your own for how things have turned out. The fact that you don’t have enough people turning up for wvw is not anybody else’s fault, and that won’t change no matter how many times you post about it.
3. SBI still has pretty minimal coverage during Euro primetime, and loses a lot of ground, upgrades, siege and whatnot. We should be pretty demoralized if what you claim to be the “general” case were true.
4. Taking offense at people claiming credit for winning is laughable. Believing everything they say is equally ridiculous. And quoting them and claiming that this represents the opinions of the server as a whole is just ignorant.
5. LOL

While having better coverage drug the week may be “smarter”, it is also not merely an issue of putting your eggs in one basket vs spreading it out over the week. Many people have life obligations that make significant gaming time during the week very difficult. That doesn’t mean they are less smart for being unable to provide coverage.
Now if you are somehow trying to claim SBI as a server somehow had control over who joined the server, and you guys created a server with generally better coverage…that’s different. That ,at be true, and if it is I’m impressed. However I still wouldn’t call you “smarter”. I’m sure JQ would love more people on during weekdays, but as it is the few times I’m on it seems we barely have enough to run in a single borderland.

Each of our opponents has, at different times, presented interesting qualities. Like wines, they each have their own complex flavor combinations. Most notably, I find our current opposition hints at the: Austere, Bitter, Bold, Dull, Flaccid, Focused, Noble, Nutty, Simple, Structured, Subtle, and Tart.
For the purposes of argument, let’s assume that there are bad actors on all three servers (or none at all). I think the removal of the orbs has made a huge difference in our mutual ability to successfully conduct both combat operations and reasoned meta-combat in the forums. There are still challenges, but the dynamic was significantly improved by the orb update.
New tactics and counter-tactics have emerged in the past three weeks. This is a tribute to all three servers in T1. Weeks later, these tactics still have yet to fully materialize outside T1/T2. It is likely that some of these tactics will be “patched out” before they fully emerge in the lower tiers.
While old-effective tactics persist and continue to be used to great effect, the pressure to innovate is also driving the bar. Creativity on the field has never been higher. Additionally, we are beginning to see commanders season in and mentoring is beginning to take place. Some of this is a natural consequence of time; however, it is also a tribute to the level of competition.
A pie chart that is 99% one color is unhealthy for all competitors. While it might be briefly amusing, total pwnaging dominance teaches one thing… LAZINESS.
These rounds, everyone has been in the fight and we’ve all gotten better. I hope everyone continues to be in the fight. Fight well!

Smarter, yes.
I picked server with BEAST night crew. Ever play against WM before this game? I did in WAR. No one could compete at night time. No one on. Hmmmmm
Zibzab what do you think? Could that be helpful in 2 week matchup to know when asleep WM eating babyfaces, yes.
So yes, very smarter. Balckgate is cooler name and Jade Quarry has riches and goth/emo tones to their name. Better name, worse research.

I can give it a go. Your teams strategy [Fire], seems to be running as soon as you see an enemy. Keep it up though, you are making us laugh every time

So your WM night crew isn’t on for the first part the match and you’re losing. They come back and you’re winning. Kinda funny to see people from other guilds on SBI talking smack, clearly you’re not the reason SBI is winning, WM is. Now if we could just get WM to transfer to JQ we would be unstoppable

Interesting insight into our strategy…I don’t seem to hear our commanders on TS say “ALright guys, there’s the enemy lets run”. But then again, I’m sure someone who isn’t in the guild, who isn’t in the TS server and who doesn’t play on the game server probably has a much better idea of what our “strategy” is. How very insightful of you. Thanks for the info.

Ya to be honest I guess it is “smarter”. I didn’t do any research when picking a server. I ended up on a “Tier 1” server by accident. I picked at random. Was it the name? Maybe subconsciously. I don’t really care about competitive play all that much because in a given week I’m lucky to get on maybe 2 or 3 days…so my role in the overall battle is basically nothing.
Individual players on SBI may not be necessarily smarter, but I guess I do concede that on the whole choosing a server with 24 hour coverage is “smarter” if your goal is to win, since you can benefit from the work the other people are doing while you are sleeping (nothing wrong with that, I freely admit servers that have that kind of coverage are at a huge advantage, as seen by the scores during the weekdays).

There have been weekends prior where WM was on and SBI was losing over the weekend. Then turned it around during the week. This weeks match will mark the 3rd time that a comeback has happened. Yes the coverage provided by WM and their tactics contribute to this.
Speaking of coverage what I have noticed over the past 3 weeks: JQ’s coverage on the weekend seems stronger than SBI’s which is stronger than BG’s. SBI’s coverage on the weekdays seem stronger than JQ’s and BG’s.
There were no queues on BL maps for SBI multiple times Saturday and Sunday. Even had the out-manned buff for a few hours on Sunday. Nor were there queues last night in NA prime time, yet SBI had already started its weekday push. SBI was +90 to +125 PPT over JQ/BG during my time on last night in NA. The NA prime time crew were making inroads and left WM good maps with upgraded keeps.
Even with the coverage disparity, I am seeing a lot of new tactics being employed by smaller squads from all sides. This has made many of the smaller skirmishes more fun.
EDIT: The coverage issue, weekend versus weekday, is why I would like a 3 to 4 day battle match up, not a 7 day.

You asked for people to explain your strategy, and I gave it a shot, which as you point outs, only relies on observations I have done as your enemy. If your commander aint shouting “retreat”, I guess your soldiers are just bad at following orders, and run away on their own.

I can’t speak for most others, but usually I can’t play on the weekends, only the weekdays/nights. Do 12/13 hour shifts on the weekends so don’t get much time to play then. But on the weekdays/nights I can play 12 hours every day if I want

Ah gotcha…someone clearly failed to identify a sarcastic rhetorical question. I wasn’t actually looking for outside observers to explain my team’s strategy…since all you can provide (as you state) is your own observations…unless of course you want to admit to espionage
I know in my guild, a lot of us just play for fun on the weekend and aren’t too concerned with the score (we bring in our alts and grind xp). We save our serious push for the weekdays. WM generally hangs out in the borderlands so they aren’t “carrying” the entire server. Also, as Vyrance above me mentioned, many of our players are hardcore nuts that will stay up for 12+ hours in WvW, so it’s not just our Euro/Ocean coverage that pushes up our scores at night.

To JQs when you are losing it might be a good idea spend more ppl on the battle ground than Jumping puzzles.
To BGs SM is not the cake, its a lie, a hot potato, maybe it will be better not wasting all your forces trying to get SM or que for EB and not left your mates on other BLs get outmanned buff. The willingness of you guys taking over SM probably is as hard as JQs want to take over jumping puzzles.
To be honest, our zerg is never that huge during nights these 2 weeks besides the WM took over night, after that night, our night crew is really not that big…sometimes we even get outmanned buff in some BL…and we like easily take over entire map with a group of only 15-20 ppl…its not our fault when you guys stop fighting.
