All servers get to tier 1 and number 1, take a screenshot of it, realize THAT screenshot was the whole prize of being #1 in Tier 1 and quit.

JQ is so far the only server that stood since release in Tier 1, I don’t know why are we still holding there.

Have you guys not fallen to tier 2 at all? It’s been so long I can’t remember.

They’ve absolutely fallen to tier 2 for at least one week, perhaps two.

I can’t remember if SBI has fallen to tier 2 more recently than JQ. We might have also had one week, then right back.

JQ went to tier 2 during “week 39” based on what Mos has recorded. That was the week we played against Crystal Desert and Dragonbrand, and it was a complete rollover. This was just before HoD’s breakdown, and the following weeks was when JQ reached #1 spot.

SBI went down to tier 2 for “week 41”, similar results were had against IoJ and BG.

In short, both servers have been in T1 for quite a while, with the one odd vacation week in T2.

It was a good push. It was great effort. But few understood the risk of failure. With the holiday enema… JQ just decided to pile into the kitten jalopy and go out into the sticks and play PacMan at some broken down Pizza Inn and shout, “Look Ma… I pwn’d that ghost!”

No excuses. There is just a respectable amount of cranial-rectal inversion going on in JQ this week.

The possible silver lining I can see is that I know a lot of people are creating new mess’rs.

JQ is a highly active server, but most of that activity is in Lion’s Arch or explorables. When a holiday event happens, WvW gets hit the hardest.

I’m disappointed in JQ this week, but not surprised. Then again, JQ has a habit of badness on the weekends and comebacks on the weekdays.

US guilds looking to win moved to SoS because it was the “official Oceanic server” before release. They already had a night cap crew on tap.

We chose to stay away from SoS to avoid queues. Still glad we stayed away even though we’re not winning. Never get a queue on Blackgate and we’ve always someone to fight in a pretty even Tier.

We all know that 24/7 coverage=win. Learned that the hard way fighting against Henge when we were on ET. Like all the other servers that stacked for the win, they’ll lose guilds because they get annoyed with queues and drop down, its inevitable.

Just hope the Oceanic fans of WvW don’t get stuck on SoS when free server transfers stop, that would suck

Not sure I get that. We started on SoS being from the Oceanic region, so getting ‘stuck’ there wouldn’t be a bad thing at all. Haven’t moved from day 1.

If anything we need US guilds, PRX left to a euro server not so long ago and our remaining US guilds are putting up a good fight even though they are outnumbered.

If anything SoS would welcome US guilds to plug the holes, so to speak. Then pass the baton to the Oceanic guys to continue the fight.

I think it’s quite clear that SoS don’t actually need any more guilds for any time zone . Rather they would prefer to have more guilds to further extend their lead. Seems JQ could use some form of transfers more than others, however they keep proving they can achieve some really incredible results, they just seem to ‘wake up’ a day or two too late in the week.

Actually JQ usually attacks whoever is in force in the JQBL from my experience. Its a way to pull off the enemy zerg. If they don’t pull back, then well we will just trade on each others borderlands. This week we don’t have enough numbers to do this, but this has been the case for other weeks. The reason it seems like that JQ is attacking SB more is that usually, is that simply SB doesnt defend much as SOS. Seriously sometimes when we zerg through SB BL, I see one defender the whole time we ram through the hills keep. SOS usually has much quicker response time.

Perhaps this is because SB is suffering from decreased WvW participation and need to juggle people between borderlands, but nonetheless it makes it easier to attack SB borderlands than SOS;s

You should understand that SBI has no “leader”. Only a wyld bunch of commanders that work together when we find each other online.

Speaking for my guild only, we play to have fun, go out, hand out olive oil to make certain grab-yo-ankles more bearable since we care about our opponents There’s no difference made between which server that “red dood” originates from.

Winning T1 = numbers + coverage. We’ve been there, both SBI and JQ won T1 and both don’t have the coverage to win.

What we do have is the ability to have fun, smack people around, and at times get smacked in return.

I’ll leave the big picture stuff to big picture people. Coverage, time zones, what pvp guilds are doing, etc…I don’t even know or care what the score is most of the time.

See… the difference between what I did and what you did — is personal. I internalized and took ownership, you externalized and pointed fingers.

The Acolytes can play how they wish. I may not agree with my brothers and sisters but we are members for life and how any Acolyte chooses to legitimately enjoy the game is that Acolyte’s business — not mine and certainly not yours.

If any Acolyte exploited or violated the TOS/EULA, report them. I don’t own the Acolytes. I am neither an officer nor leader among the Acolytes. If you have a problem with the guild or its membership, take it up with Casso or Hieru. Otherwise, STFU.

While I can’t jump… If ever there were a night that I’d encourage such behavior it would be Thursday nights. ESOL, AoS, FOO, FS and others have improved their siege stores in preparation for the next week’s match this way (and often will run puzzle events).

Further, if traditional PvE people get the courage or just gumption to rally around a friend to support them on a venture across the threshold into WvW who the hell are you to bloviate on quality of play?

Honestly, I’m not sure what happened. I can recall times on SBI where it looked like a well oiled warmachine (even without WM’s help, though it was certainly noticeable with it). We had commanders that worked together in a strategic fashion. We took locations —AND HELD THEM-- and build up our defenses so that when the opposition came, we were actually prepared.

Now, it’s a bunch of random flipping with zero coordination or control. We have people queuing up waypoints without upgrading the doors first. We have commanders that would rather try to flip nodes in a linear fashion (showing anyone who is watching where our main force is) than take back a keep where a mesmer hid for almost a full hour… only to lose it again in under 10 min.

If we, SBI, drop to T2, I won’t be surprised. I won’t be thrilled, but I certainly won’t be surprised.

I miss the strats and tactics…

And to call out all commanders for not acting strategically/tactically… well… it’s a slap in the face of those who do, just because you either don’t know about their coordination or can’t see it… that’s IMHO ofc…

If you’re a defensive-minded player, then I’d suggest to get in touch with the commanders “running wild” and aligning your efforts with theirs. Keep scouts out to get a heads-up when the enemy comes and call in the troops. I know we’ve fallen back to help out whenever it’s possible for us.

If you don’t want to do that, that’s fine, too. Just don’t complain about others behaving exactly the same way you do.

The thing is we’ve lost a lot of people and quite a few good commanders that got us to our #1 position. SBI is going through a significant rebuilding period with new commanders. We still need an influx of more players to fight off the numbers of SoS.

You SoS guys definitely aren’t hurting for numbers even having lost PRX.

SF is one of the groups that I’ve seen good things from. My statements are not directed at those who are obviously helping out. My statements are due to the visible change in the mindset of those participating in WvWvW. Yeah, there are still good commanders. We are still in T1. That said, the coordination is starting to come apart.

As for getting out and doing something about it, you’ll most likely find me escorting yaks, taking back camps to build defensive seige, queuing upgrades to every tower, keep, garrison that doesn’t currently have it, sweeping objectives we take, calling out inc on yak jumpers and those towers that our zerg has abandoned after taking, hiding in keeps to port people back in, as well as getting off the wall and charging enemy cats/trebs when the people behind me would rather watch from the walls than help.

My statements are not directed at SF, or those who are obviously doing a good job with what you have to work with. My statements are more saying, what happened to all we had to work with? I don’t want to see us adopt a “for the swarm” mentality and just run around attacking everything with a red name tag.

I’ve noticed the “reputable” commanders not being on as often, and replaced with people that I’m assuming just had 100g to spend. We still have good folks. We have good leaders that don’t have tags. I’m just hoping the rebuilding goes well and less people jump ship.

IMHO, The responsibility to enjoy yourself while representing your server, is yours…

I am a defensive mindset player, I like to set up siege to defend things, run supply, scout and run yaks BUT if other people enjoy blazing around the map attacking things and moving on, Good on them! I will feed them all the intel I can.

IMHO, There is zero point in forcing OTHER players into playstyles that will see them become bored and leave the game entirely.

@Lavath, thank you for clarifying. I get quite a few PM’s in regards to map scouting reports and try to go for “best effort” to assist as many as possible while keeping myself and my team entertained

And while we do appreciate the pain train bare knuckle brawls preferred by some, at the end of the day that doesn’t put points on the board for us. We should be focusing on point capping and keeping instead of seeing who has the biggest hammer. If that’s not your thing, then please don’t criticize the people who are trying to win the week. JQ guys.. I was portal bombed tonight by the guild DKC. It was the most amazing overkill I’ve ever seen. I was killing the guild claim in a supp camp, and saw a portal drop behind me.. and 20 DKC ganked me. I couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of portal bombing a solo enemy, and could only imagine they were having a blast doing it.

Yea, but BG probably did actually get 2v1’d. They weren’t liked very much.

The real winner of wvw this week is Anet. They have taken more towers and keeps this week with the patches than anyone of us combined.

all that shows is either SoS or JQ dropping AoE on the bridge to keep them back. Hardly proof of some master plan where we align with JQ to take down SBI.

I was expecting to see some screenshot of a secret meeting between jQ and SoS.

There are times we attack JQ but right now our biggest threat is SBI and that is who we will target. it just makes sense.
