People aren’t finding it fun so they voice there opinions. Is there a problem with people voicing their opinions? I bet FC and ET players were voicing their opinions on fighting SF pretty early too. It’s not our fault that FC and ET had to put up with SF for so long. Every server will get crushed in a higher tier it’s just depends on which tier they have to be in to get smashed. With the exception of the T1 servers of course and maybe one or two T2 servers. I get that SF is all excited about being out of T8 and that they are doing so well. After enough we are big and bad and do so well talk it gets old. Not matter who it’s coming from.

When SF came up I had no idea what they were like. One could only go off of what others say. From the first few hours of reset based on what I heard I thought cool this will be a good fight. However, now it’s just like well I’ll go out and see how it is and after awhile it gets lame. That being said I do enjoy fighting the SF on a different map where there aren’t tons of people until the zerg gets called in.

Well your server is quite good as measured by points. Otherwise we wouldn’t be losing right now.

“Bad” players don’t mean that their server is “bad.” It just means that the majority of players I find from SF are significantly easier to kill than HOD’s. If player skill indicated to how good a server was, Mend’s/VLK’s/PAXA’s/XOXO’s servers would never lose lol.

There are no doubt quite a few good players on SF. It’s just that the majority seem to offer less resistance than HoD’s in most instances. Since SF’s players are easier to kill than HoD’s, they are “worse.” Since SF gets more points than NSP/HOD, the server is “better.”

My original intention was to offer some constructive criticism. Perhaps it would be better to say that SF would stomp NSP/HOD twice as hard if they worked to win more of the small fights.

I think SF deserves credit when it’s due and us HoDs have to take a look at ourselves after this.
Yes, SF’s numbers are astounding, but they know what they’re doing. They move together well, rez their own promptly, know where to put their siege and know when to pull back as a group. That is what it takes to win in a large-scale war scenario.
Compare it to our own HoD zergs.

I’ve seen commanders like Pew Pew, Battlecamp, Aucifer and a few others haemorrhage because their zerg keeps getting glued to PvEing SM castle’s siege instead of taking a camp or lags behind trying to fight and get loot instead of pushing into a keep.

There have been talks last week of HoD being boosted by the transfers and moving up a tier or two but look at us now.

I think SF is an excellent reminder of what the real deal looks like. We’ve been somewhat pampered by the influx of transfers and (to be honest) our tactics in WvW are really sloppy and poor. We clearly need to tighten up our game plan if we want to survive in the higher tiers.

I was there trying to push SF when they had our keep in EB with a similar number to us, but they outfought us. If we were that good as we claimed to be, we would have at least been able to get a camp out of it.
(Shoutout to Lord Kael from [SONG] for that fight yesterday =D)

Now that SF are showing the numbers, I hear a lot of whining about them being all about numbers and see a lot of the numbers just disappear now that we’re not stomping around in WvW. It just proves that we have too many casual WvWers.

Bottom line: Without serious WvWers and a night crew, we won’t get anywhere. We need to stop whining and, perhaps, even start learning from SF.

P/S: I’m the fugly guardian wearing a skull and a grass skirt that makes me look like a shaman.

Edit: Before anyone gets offended, I didn’t mean that we (HoD) suck. We’re good. Just not good enough to be pushing up another tier. Yet.

I think if you add DH to your calculations you might get a better idea of why so many QQ’s.

When DH was in T7 GOM and HOD got roflstomped (just like our fellow outmanned in T8), DH has huge coverage, just like SF. NSP was in T6 and enjoying being under strength. When DH moved up it got pretty interesting if T7, everyone actually had a chance to own SM sometime and for the first few weeks wining was shared.

So it’s not just SF coming along, it’s SF coming along “just after” DH moved along and made everything interesting.

Anyway for those who want to see the numbers http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA looks like two to three weeks for SF to move up, and due to the way the points work 6-8 for anyone in T8 to knock at the T7 door (AIUI the drop in GOMs rank will make gaining points harder after this week).

So the question is, when LoJ drops to T7 will they plummet, will they own, or will it be like when NSP arrived? Because if T7 is as close as it was with GOM, then T8 might be locked down for quite some time as gaining points relative to the T7 servers will be slow going.

NSP and HoD are T7, almost T8, for a reason – they’re not heavy WvWers. Like an above poster stated, SF shouldn’t have been T8; nor should they be T7.

So, for some reason, we got this when an SF dolyak died.

Well after facing SF zergs all day and gaining 123 badges I have found I would rather face an SF zerg then a NSP zerg. They are easier to kill! I now have enough badges, thanks you SF, to outfit my next level 80 in exotics. So do not feel bad, you are appreciated!

Oh one small edit. Why do you find it necessary to send a 30+ zerg to capture an undefended supply camp? I was watching while you all stormed into Titan. Really, if you want or need lessons on how to solo an undefended camp I will gladly take donations for lessons!

4 guys with maxed out supply capacity can carry 100 supply in one go. :>
Add a guild bonus on top of it and 5 guys can carry 150 supply.
Now the only question is where this supply should come from, as no matter the capacity, the rate at which supply is generated will still be the same.

As for SF’s golem march through EB it was 29 alphas and 1 omega. Needed the omega to command them all, it just doesn’t make any sense otherwise.

The problem is we are here for different levels of fun. SF seems to only know how to have fun with 40 + people around each other.

There are ALSO a good number of people who only need 1-10 around them to have their fun, and SF doesn’t have any of those. That’s why the thread got closed because other than those Osif pointed out, the forum posters would like to enjoy more skill-full combat in open world pvp. And you all simply do not provide anything close. This isn’t trolling, it’s stating facts man.

20 man? This crying again? No on cares how many people you have on each of their side. We literally pushed your zerg out that was twice the amount of what we had, out of SM. If that’s your idea of fun, then be my guest. But honestly quit bringing more excuses about numbers and wanting to run around with 20 tarts. You guys are getting outplayed at every level and instead of finding another strategic move to counter it, all you guys do is run to the forums and cry again. Like others have said before me, whether theyre from SF or not, if you want random small groups running around go find one on LFG (lols) or something. Or better yet PvP. Buddy, we run 5 guys every night….I think even running with 20 takes no skill. Any player can spam #1 and win 80-90% of their fights…..that shouldn’t be allowed. And you run twice that!

Skill this Skill that…hands down real good players just don’t run in zergs. That is a fact. From the beginning of pvp the majority of good players find ways to win outside of having 20+ around them. So go on and on about “outplaying” everyone…you out number everyone, use the correct terminology.

I’m from ET, and while I don’t run around and zergs and just do my own thing most of the time, I’ve been forced to defend and push out SF when they were in T8 and I know for a fact you’re right. I don’t mean to start even more arguments, but, SF is numbers and you have to get used to it. Fact of the matter is, fighting against a zerg all the time can get you better and, to be honest, I thank them for throwing 20+ guys in my face when I have 1 other person with me because I’ve beaten them in zergs before lol. You just have to get used to their numbers.

2. Can’t represent said reputable guild because talking kitten would hurt the guild’s reputation or…

Well, this weekend was a learning exercise in

1.) what a zerg really looks like without culling
2.) Why one carries siege plans around with one
3.) SF Zerg + Arrow Cart equals Loot Pinata!
4.) Holy mother of all things perilous, the map seems big when you can’t keep anything long enough to build WP.
5.) SF Portal bombs are shocking the first couple of times you see them; and I really think those should be restricted to only the people in a mezmer’s party, or only allow Xnumber of people through. Portal bombing ikittenllion people is game-breaking, and while not an infraction of the rules, it is certainly skating the line of cheating, it seems to me.

That said; I had a blast defending against the SFZerg. We beat you back from a number of keeps, even after you had the walls down and were headed to Lords room. Taking stuff back from you, if you’d had time to build siege, was a much harder trick. Your server does a great job of building and manning defense.

And who knew anything could make HoD’s zergs look small? HoD was flying under the radar taking stuff this weekend; running around with groups numbering less than 20, flipping stuff. Well played, stealth HoD zerg.

And a big shoutout to some really good commanders on the NSP side this weekend. And some outstanding players. Holding off a zerg in a tower with no walls, with less than 10 people was one of the most epic fights I’ve ever played in any game.

We few, we happy few; though we feel outnumbered and out-manned, I remind you of Henry V at Agincourt. Victory is not out of our grasp, we just have to adjust our tactics.

+1 respect, and not just because you refrained from flaming SF…

We talked about this in map chat yesterday, one common thing that we have noticed in T8 and now in T7 is that our enemies seem to get mad at SF and blame numbers or out and out quit….While when SF gets in trouble we look inward and blame each other (SF does run on negativity at times lol) and then we regroup and try again…And if that don’t work we try again with MOAR people…

Like you, many of us think the gravy train will end one day, and we will have to (le gasp!) modify our approach…But you will not convince your or our MZ to do things differently when what they normally do is working just fine….Necessity is the mother of all invention as they say, so we will adapt when the time comes or as needed and likely no sooner.
