One Heck of an EPIC keep fight in SOR BL Garrison. I swear it was like, TC wave, BG wave, TC wave, BG, TC and BG, and a ton of lord Resurrection. I swear that was the most fun I’ve had yet ever defending 1 location.

Yes, but you can still achieve that by hitting 1st place, their points are just as good as 2nds.

We’re aware of that, but we’re not going to keep smashing our faces into a wall before we realise we need to take a different approach and change tactics. We’ve worked our way up to T2 and seen what happens when our opponents decide to cut out 2nd place and solidly hit 1st place (us) and just fall back on points even more because of pure stubborness. We try to not only learn from our mistakes but those of others where we can.

We don’t like to back away from fights, nor do we like ignoring one side in favour of the other, but when the same plan isn’t working for 2 weeks, we need to modify our objectives in order to be contenders (at least for second place). If we focus on one side, we’re not about to turn a blind eye to the other.

Good to hear, keeps things interesting.

SoR and TC might have a better chance in facing SBI than BG in the current situation… But if you guys just let BG go that wouldn’t be cool…

We win or we lose, but we don’t fight for second. The winner will advance to tier 1 either way.

Technically wont win focusing on each other anyways. The idea of focusing on the leader is to deprive them of getting the potential points they need. If we ignored you and went after each other, it more or less means you can do what you want. It makes no sense to focus on each other.

I’m sorry, but this just isn’t true right now. The momentum is in BGs favor. If they did focus BG we would drop in rating, but the oceanic and EU is too strong in BG right now, even against the double team. Its all good though, you can if you want. Everyone knows BG’s main beef is with SoR. When TC hits us, we hit them back. Look, every commander is going to take the points he believes he can take, regardeless of what color. For BG, if its even, we just pick blue first.

What ends up happening is 2nd and 3rd fight amongst themselves, allowing 1st to steamroll in potential points. Fighting for 2nd doesn’t work in anyones favour except for 1st place. If both 2nd and 3rd set their sights for 1st, they serve a dual purpose, they not only work on getting themselves potential points, but they deprive 1st from theirs preventing a massive point lead. The 2nd and 3rd place would be smarter to focus on 1st to actually have a chance in a match. It also keeps things much more interesting and competitive.

Easy to say from a second place perspective, but if TC ever wants to progress, they have to focus SoR. What is much more likely is that the people on TC will do what they want because they’re not a hivemind.

You probably play mostly on a BL map. At the time that you wrote this, TC owned a big piece of the blue map in EB.

Why are people saying “good luck in T1” when we’re not really close to T1? It’s going to be the same matchup next week, and unfortunately a lot of our people don’t take the rating system seriously on friday mornings before reset so we lose a chance there to gain points.

4 months of playing that map and I never knew that. Astounding!

In regards to EB (and my opinion in no way represents the myriad of opinions that combine to create ‘the rest of the server’), I have little interest in attacking SoR. From my observations, SoR is nearly always understaffed in there, and just not a challenge. Even on the very first Friday…other than a brief surge of double teaming, there was nothing of note all night long.

I like a challenge, and I enjoy combating BG in EB because they provide that. I’m well aware we’ll never take first place. That doesn’t really concern me. What does concern me is a) improving, b) how the glicko system works ((which very few people understand)), and what is best for my server, on my map.

Obviously, that’s focusing BG, because they’re going to take all our stuff every night, and the weaker you leave them in US primetime, the longer it will take. I feel for our oceanic players, and I’d not be a very good strategist if I didn’t at least try to pass on to them something other than an entirely green map. Even if I fail

Finally, SoR just kept attacking TC in EB tonight, from the start of the match Again and again, leading to an almost successful attempt on our keep by BG while SoR hit OW. Anyone who plays regularly on EB, or was on tonight would verify that I have zero interest in making life on my map harder by focusing SoR instead of BG. But it’s like pulling teeth to get SoR to attack BG, or sometimes do anything at all due to their relatively tiny participation in EB.

The end result was the one of our icons went down into SoR territory, double teamed SoR with BG and took their keep.

Not really at all helpful to either of us :p, even if it was cathartic after the initial pushes from SoR.

That’s how it goes, though! ^^

None of this is a complaint, or an accusation, or whining. It’s my opinion, and an explanation for observed behaviour. Well done to BG on your claiming of OL 30min ago, you deserved it – we didn’t have defensive countermeasures in place that we should have had all night, and our defense in general was substandard.

On the upside, I have a new phrase to repeat every single time I’m in EB and we’re red. Learning is wonderful (and not just when you discover jellyfish!)

BG from this thread seems to only care about winning, with good fights 2nd or whatever.

At least that’s how I’ve been viewing all the “TC should attack SoR” posts and such. It seems BG wants to have TC fight SoR and vice versa more then fight BG, however TC/SoR really seem to not care as long as there are super fun fights, win or lose, who their enemy is.

I mean in reality, what does coming in 1st do? nothing other then grow an ego complex for some.
When you play for the fights, you play for the long term win or lose.
