So earlier today our server, Borlis Pass, got completely overrun in EB by Anvil Rock folks who were just appearing inside forts. No mesmers involved so it wasn’t that. Me and a few other folks were inside a fort when all of the sudden about 15 people from the same guild popped up directly next to us INSIDE the for and took it from the inside. I also saw a few people running about a million miles an hour in golems. Any other servers seeing more of this?

Also I did some looking into it via “The Google”. There are programs out there that are allowing people to do exactly the kind of crap I’ve described. I’m not naming them because that’s just stupid and I don’t want to give anyone ideas.

well hackers exist, and always will…I think Anet has been doing a fairly decent job against them but they could still work harder of course.

Now my problem is when the community supports that kind of activity…all servers have hackers but they rarely belong to guilds or bigger organization and it’s usually just a few people. You didn’t mention the guilds name or post screenshots which doesn’t help. Though maybe the first instance was just a mesmer portal that was missed….

I wish it was a mesmer portal. We were in this fort for a good 20-25 minutes just being jerks with siege stuff. Then BAM they’re in the fort and we’re dead. I’m sure I’m not the only one that saw it. Everyone was talking about it in team chat. I didn’t think to get screen shots at the time, only because I almost never take screen shots for any reason. I can say that many people were reported according to what everyone was saying in team chat.

it most likely was a mesmer, i’ve hid in keeps for a couple hours before, just for the right moment. You’re talking about 20-25mins, which is fairly low amount of time. if that keep has broken before recently, it most likely couldve been a mesmer with a bad mesmer sweep.

Yeah I’ve witnessed hacks, no two ways about it they were just straight up hacks. However, as a person with a level 80 mez myself I have spent hours hiding before waiting for my team to get the randoms organized and ready for a portal. So a bad sweep can lead to sudden enemy forces coming out of no where. I mean throw up a stealth, run in, drop portal, and before you realize it there’s 30 people in your face.

There are easily accessible hacks out there people can find and download that involve speed adjustments and actual “flying”. I’ve heard rumors of one that allow for teleporting but I haven’t seen any proof to substantiate that one.

Well some of the earlier bots I used to see roaming around PvE zones had the ability to teleport to dead mobs to loot. Would not be surprised if it was possible.

As far as the ppl in the keep, not sure about that one could have been a mesmer stealth portal but I wasn’t there so not sure. Or if ths was garrison or in EB we had quite a few golems porting directly to gates and knocking them down in record time. I should elaborate a bit so you understand, we used portals to get to gates quickly.

If you had been wise enough to actually look at our matchup thread you would see a couple screen shots of the golems, but it was nice of you to come and try to smear the server due to lack of knowledge.

Well in my case I often see people “flying” over them. As far as teleporting goes its fairly simple.. There is an issue with the mesmer portal in some “locations” at keeps/towers all you have to do is stuff your face against the wall(or gate usually) / autorun and place your portal and a then a second one and use it a couple times sometimes you will end up on the other side of the wall if part of your portal is ticking through it(usually the majority length of the portal has to be on the other side). It’s the most common tactic used by some guilds. The process has been explained the death on the forums but there is nice fix to it.

A simple fix would be:
Give keep, tower, castle geometry i.e. the separated parts a special ID that could be referenced en masse for measuring purposes. When a portal is launched check it’s proximity to these objects based on where it would land should the cast complete. If the proximity check detects any overlap terminate the portal cast. Simple as that.

There are certainly plenty of hacks out there, they pop up from time to time in really obvious ways. We had 4-5 days straight of a specific guild on AM using “teleport” like hacks to not only get around fast but to just jump right into lords rooms. I dont mean like ones Ive seen in the past where Mesmers have literally jumped over walls and portalled other people in, I mean all different classes just able to tele straight to a target location!
It was annoying having to watch them appear in towers all the time but it was worse when you try to kill them and they just tele to the futherest mob/gathering node away from you, more noticeably so when rangers did it as their pets didn’t tele too, they just sort of ran off in the direction the players tele’d in!
I have noticed players moving really fast too, I’m a mes so a few hits on me when I’m not paying attention and I go down fast anyway, but I’ve seen players just take me down in seconds with auto attacks because it was sped up so fast!

All you can do is report them under the “scamming” but it wont get anything done fast, we were reporting the same 4 players for like 4-5 days straight and they still kept coming, it obviously takes some time to get things done on Anet’s end!

If you see this again right click and report the players…if you get time. Can’t stand hacking and cheating and these people should be banned (if proven they did hack).

@Zuer if you are going to accuse a server of hacking, be god kitten sure that you are right.

They used portal to transport golem. None of them “speed hacked” their way. If they had done it, be sure others player from AR would have reported, me first.

And I have no idea about the players popping in your fort. But since you first accusation were pure bullkitten, I wouldn’t trust this ether.

Before posting those kind of thing on the WvW forum, think a bit.

OP suggested they were moving a million miles an hour, I assure you they were only going as fast as Swiftness + Portal can make them but its good that you really believe they went a million miles an hour, not sure how the OP witnessed this as thats faster then the human eye could have picked up on. Next week AR plans to use our new million mile an hour golems to travel to a new galaxy and find new planets with intelligent life forms, stay tuned folks.

there is definately a hack available and being used, just witnessed it twice in less than an hour by a guild called PRO from AM. Also been told where the hack is available and what it does.

Wouldn’t stoop so low tbh, but if this isn’t fixed asap its going to cause alot of people to quit

Obviously they were moving too “fast” to catch the guild tag or name, but it was an AR player using it. It would go without saying that many guilds on AR employ the use of said unsavory tactics especially during times where they’re being beaten so badly during WvW matches (like said match). And, I’m sure there are many that know of it and that are going “go for it” to said player(s) as they don’t want to report their “friends”.

This wasnt done with hacks. I was there. I was done with skill and tactics. Which to the unwashed masses looks like magic. There are hacks out there but not everything is hacks and to accuse everyone of hacks is just stupid. If you saw hacking going on report it otherwise shut the kitten up. I have been playing on AR since release (you have been there for what? 1 month?) and I can assure you we don’t have “many guilds using hacks”.

I saw once a mesmer who I’m pretty sure exploited a wall, and I reported him. I’m sure 99% of AR would do it.

We have hacker from time to time, like every server.

I have been on the alliance TS for 2 weeks now, and I didn’t hear once anyone talk about hacking or exploiting to get a tower/keep.

I thought EOH was a pretty cool guild, but you just got really low on this one.

If you see someone hacks, report him. No need to come to this forum and call the whole Anvil Rock server a cheater place.

The third poster in this thread pretty much reveals the mystery early on. 20-25 minutes messing around on siege and not watching your doors and you get over run? Lack of situational awareness on your part is not hacking on their part.

If he is talking about our keep in Eternal Battleground, I was there when we took it.

We mesmer portaled 4-5 golem at the door, and went brute force. I think our commander didn’t know to do and was bored and just decided to go Conan mode like he kept saying.

We just sent the golem and covered them, we didn’t even destroy the boiling oil ahaha.

But we got the keep anyway, mainly because we had a diversion going in another tower, and they were not expecting us to attack like that.

We didn’t see a lot of them, so I presume we took them by surprise.

Xandria if you hate Anvil Rock so bad why are you even on that server? You seem to spend alot of your time on the forum complaining about Anvil Rock and the people on it. I am not sure if some anvil rock person kicked your puppy or said bad things about your but I just dont get why you would stick around if your so miserable and dont turn this into a pity party of anvil rock wanting you to leave because honestly I dont really care if your here or not but I am just tired of hearing and hearing about you kittening all the time. Its a game and you should enjoy yourself or at least be miserable somewhere else.

Just calling it like it is. Many other guilds besides EOH may not say anything and that’s their thing….but we’ve seen many alliance peeps use exploits, have screenies of the fact, and have reported. However my above post had said nothing about the alliance, just that in fact someone on AR was using a “flying/speed” hack last night and YOU come into this thread immediately defending the alliance which is the first sign that YOU know that someone in the alliance has been employing such tactics and YOU"RE on the defensive over it.

No one thinks EOH is a “cool guild” on AR except those that aren’t in the alliance and those that are our enemies that say so publicly. Let’s face it, I’m not “for the alliance” and YOU are….let’s agree to disagree.

This thread was made by a BP player after all that noticed something strange. While they were wrong as blatently shown/stated on the golem thing….they did hit another problem on the nail. YES people are using these unsavory tactics on other servers as well, but don’t be so ignorant as to think that AR “would never” use them….because certain people do.

Kard, I know you’re a straight up player, I also know how fast 12 golems can take down a reinforced door. 5 is a little slow for my tastes. And I hate hackers and go out of my way to report them. Not sure why Xan is painting the server with such a broad brush. I don’t hack, but then again I don’t need to.

If people are using hacks then report them and they will one day get banned when anet gets around to it. There alot of people out there using blanket statements when they should just be focusing on the poeple that are doing it. You still got a bug up your kitten over spending 12 whole gold upgrading a keep and the alliance wanted to use buffs to help defend it. My big question to that is if your a commander in a wvw guild why dont you have your own buffs to protect your own keep that your put 12 gold into. Oh yeah the truth lets not worry about that.

Well It took us quit a while to destroy those door. Especially the last door, since we only had about 3 golem left.

I don’t know how many we had total at the beginning, maybe more then 5. But I can assure nothing illegal happened there.

If you knew me, you would know I can’t stand hacker. I call them off in general chat, I screen shot and I report. Each time I witnessed something wrong, I did it.

I would do the same about the alliance.

Really? Are you reading my mind? You must be! I’m not even friend with the alliance, I listen on the TS but I don’t speak. When they do a bad move in WvW, I call them out in general chat. Alliance or not, if they cheat, them and all those who cheated with them will be reported.

I only wrote about the alliance because there TS is a good source of information for many guilds. I have to remember to never prononce the word “alliance” with you around.

I also never said Anvil Rock didn’t have hacker. We are on the internet after all, every server have cheaters.

You hate the alliance so much, get over it already. Those days, each one of your post is full of hate ether for Anvil Rock or for the alliance. You should just switch server, no offence intended. It’s a video game, you are supose to have fun.
