Alright, so I love WvW. I would rather have more even matches, even on the losing side, rather than overwhelming losses/wins. Being on the team that is totally dominating….is BORING AS ALL HELL.
I don’t like the Orbs of Power. I understand the concept, but I think it’s a poor concept to make a dominating team even stronger.
Instead of Orbs, why not create a scaling Homeland Defender buff.
Concept:
1. Gain a buff that scales by how much of your own borderland you own.
2. Weaken other teams by taking points in their borderlands.
3. Holding a majority of points inside your borderland creates supply inside Eternal base.
4. The buff of your borderlands is still held inside Eternal.
With this, dominating teams would still hold a strong buff (by weakening enemies and maxing out their own buff), but a it would give defenders a much better chance of holding their own territories. It would also give a lessened power advantage vs the Orbs. It would help to lengthen the amount of time needed to dominate the map (I think).
No more orb hacking?
It would also give priority to holding one’s own borderlands, while making the Eternal Battlegrounds a much more back and forth fight.
IMO, this would make the battlegrounds feel a lot more epic, while making it a bit more balanced.
