Who are the commanders you consider elite? Preferably don’t list a guildmate because they tend to be biased opinions.

Anyway for Kaineng the absolute best commanders that I have seen in action on this server:

Jang Gun (WM) – by far the best in leading, listening to scouts, reacting, training, etc.
Ssaoul (WM) –
Hide Chicken (WM)- when he was on.
Prince Jarvan (Rise)
Ethersin (RE)
Chaster (SOS) – when he use to play.

Many others are pretty good but some just are very good. This is just my perspective from an unbiased point of view.

Who are the top commanders that you consider the best of the best?

What about Meow from Kaineng?

These guys have been around forever, know the importance of different roles and different needs at any given time, and have been with the community for a long time and thus are well-integrated and well-known and well-respected. In my opinion, they’re the best on SBI, though certainly there are others that I think are great in their own right (Cicc [LX], for instance, and I also love Rice Republic [Kiwi] and Ms Frozen [Kiwi]).

Some have big guilds and they showoff a lot while others don’t. That doesn’t make them better A real “pro” commander would do the most with least people.

Glad to see my long-time Comrade Jarvan is on that list. I fought alongside him for awhile, and even against him for a bit, but still respect and talk to him. Glad to see him and RISE are doing work.

Ring of Fire – Anya of the Mists.

Hands down the most reliable commander we have. He takes borderland defense seriously.

Elite is a silly word, I’ll instead name commanders that I personally like to follow.

Glorious Stei*, Sasarella*, Velkeri*, Wok for a living, Ben Sheets, Kreen, Shalile, Jedbacca, Cue Queue, Waha Foo, Mance, Ravanaz, Chacha…. man, too many to remember, now.

Although he no longer plays the game anymore the best commander I have ever followed was Smokee Gee [HB] from Blackgate.

This being said, I honestly don’t think any of the T7 commanders would be able to compete with any of the T2 commanders right away. Tactics in higher tiers are so advanced that lower tiers would have to either adapt or get squashed.

The difference doesn’t lie with siege, but with the battles.

There are many fine commanders, the issue is how to rate a commander. For me it would be as follows;

1. Never exploits (exploit definition can be problematic )
2. Takes responsibility for failures rather than blames followers.
3. Tries to include fun in the runs they lead.
4. Understands the importance of a server community.
5. Gets the job done with available forces.

I always like Cubes a Cube from my days on GoM. He was organized and had some really brilliant tactical plans. I especially love bunkering down in Durios with him and a bunch of other guys from my server, and basically being the biggest thorn in our enemies’ sides as was physically possible.

Luvpie and vox shatterfell, IMHO are the two current best commanders on SOS. Team shatter and Fate also have a couple of good ones.

IRSykO of FA is really good, from what I remember, and Alaric of VK is good and scary to run into.

On my current server of TC: Azel, Kittaen and Nightlight are all very, very good at what they do, and they all have their own specialties as to how and where they command best.

From Kain:
1) Jang Gun[WM] – Efficient, fast responder, able to type and give commands on the fly. Incredible.

2) Prince Jarvan[RISE] – Almost as good as Jang

3) Ssaoul[WM] – There’s a language barrier, but he is very good at gathering PUGS and fighting extremely hard, making PUGers want to fight with him

4) Hide Chicken[WM] – Absolutely fun and hilarious to go with

5) Chiipsy Chips[Dii] – Very experienced and doesn’t ditch people behind, if he does, there’s ample warning. Very respectable commander

6) Darknicrofia Sage[KO] – Another one that doesn’t leave people behind, and if they do, its very ample warning. Solid

I know I’m missing more, but these are the ones that do stand out for me. There’s a couple more I know I’m missing. There’s a couple of [Ph] people that used to command that were excellent, and I know there are more [CO] people in here that I’m missing.

There are some commanders where teamspeak is necessary for Kaineng. If you aren’t, prepared to get left behind – Unfortunately, most PUGers don’t and when they get ditched, they leave WvW with a bad taste in their mouths. Another reason why WvW in Kaineng has a dwindling population – we have a poor retention rate of newbie WvWers. I’ve seen map chats with a group of disgruntled PUGers who felt like they were ditched in combat while the main group took off leaving the PUGers holding the bag complain.

Odinzu from EP – Excellent at communication, reacts quickly to scout information, communicates in both chat and mumble. May be the best field commander on the server.

Commander Jadon from Pink – Excellent at communication, reacts quickly to scouts. Also communicates in mumble and chat.

Nightlight from CERN – almost and exact copy of Odinzu.

Zudori from iNf – Excellent communication skills reacts quickly to scouts.

There are probably more that I am leaving out = ( but these are the main ones I run with.

On TC these are my top 5 that I’ve run with:

There are plenty more stellar commanders on TC, I just tend to stay on TCBL. We just picked up a couple new ones as well, had some great runs with them, but I don’t know them well enough yet to make this a top 10.

To say that 1 or 2 Commanders on Blackgate are “Elite” would take the glory away from the others. As far as I’m concerned, kitten near every BG Commander is Elite in my book. There are a few that are bad though. but for the most part, the big leaders are good.

Running a guild group is one thing, but it’s another thing to be able to lead the militia and make them work effectively like an organized guild group. As a commander myself, these are the kinds of commanders that I really look up to.

Rebel Daughter (aussie yellin all the time ><)

1953 hours played, 90%+ in wvw

Cicc (LX) – Loves fighting bigger numbers and is great in supporting other commanders on the field. Run lots of small parties with him. Moves fast and is not afraid to take suggestions. Very flexible as a commander running havoc groups or leading da zerglings.
Bannok (DC) – Great offensive and defensive commander. Really understands when to push and when to pull back and reorganize the lemmings. At the same time loves to jump into the opposing zerg and just destroys EB when he is on. Really great in using his scouts and responding quickly to tower defense. Highly respected on SBI.
Grundlenub (KT) – Really great offensive commander. People see him on and they know lots of Karma/wxp is coming. Loves his portal bombs.

For Darkhaven I like following
Master Myro
Lilly (something. Sorry Lilly can’t remember other part of name, just know that its a guy. He usually has to keep correcting people)
Grandpa (who doesn’t seem to be on anymore)
Zen Darkwing, Darkwing Angel (might have name reversed, or completely have it wrong), Nebekanzer are pretty good too.

Haven’t seen too many bad commander, but I don’t play WvW that much.

No love for me from Riot this make me sad. No more drinking fun then and uss SFR

I would add Unreasonable (was TL, now Meow) to the list. He is very knowledgable about the game and knows how to rally people.

Indo on SoR is pretty amazing. I have seen commanders lead PuGs and fail hard. Indo will take these same people and just starting owning. If he ever quit SoR, I think SoR would drop a tier or two.

Tarnished Coast:

Kittanae and Nightlight for sure. I never get the chance to follow some of the other TC names that people claim are very good that aren’t PiNK.

And though you said no guildies, I listed two non-guildies and feel the need to throw Jadon out there.

Ehmry Bay: Noice, Goldiy, Adama, Drezdan, Idi, and some other commanders I knew who already transferred to Mag & FA. In shorts, too many to list.

I won’t be biased … so RE will not be listed. I like all my guild, but let me share my thoughts on other Kaineng commanders I’ve enjoyed

WM commanders… I like them all, I can’t believe no one listed Schizo Lizi or Proto. They work so well together.

Meow, I absolutely love WW Phil, he always has a good time. Funny in map chat too.

Unreasonable from TL now Meow also is very good.

Jarvan has enough love on this thread, so no need to add more. thirst for blood is unquenchable.

I like Mayo from CO, so calm. Sarabi too been in a few off hour runs with him.

Sano I call our BL commander, I think it’s his fav responsibility or he just so accustomed to it, he gets my props for taking on ownership.

Chips, you get my props. You always will be there when the big guilds come and go, and help provide the random players a go to guy. And LAST NIGHT WAS HILARIOUSLY FUN. Keep up the good work, btw of all commanders … Chips the best karaoke – he melts hearts.

There some pretty amazing guys … too, I can’t name becuase either I play off hours, or I end up often with RE commanders.

A couple commander I miss commanding here: Smile Bruno (irl now barely gets time to tpvp) and Redzone.
