I was wondering if anyone can recommend a new server for me. I have played on Maguuma since launch, but it isn’t the same, too many transfers and I dislike the fights in higher tiers (too much zerg v. zerg and ques). I am wanting a stable server in T3/T4 and good community. I don’t care about winning, just want some good/close fights.

I think you’ll find all tier 3 and above will have zergs going around. If you don’t like it I recommend tier 4 or below or just run small group sneak attacking towers taking sc running yaks, defending. Just because there are zergs didn’t mean you have to be in them:) though I have to say it your mor then welcome to join FA

HoD is at tier7 but you may find lower tiers to be less zergy and population is relatively stable at the moment. Community is great too.

FA is in tier 3 and is staying there which the OP doesn’t want. Recommending Ehmry Bay, Crystal Desert or Yak’s Bend for you.

Take a look into Anvil Rock or Henge of Denravi, both should have what you’re looking for. They’re both strong servers without having huge or bloated populations, and both are in competitive/balanced tiers at the moment. Ferguson’s Crossing is another option if you’re willing to try T8.

Yeah, the Mag train is coming to a screeching halt. I’m getting out of here ASAP before transfer fees start.

I say go to loj and help them rebuild their numbers. It’s a shame what happened to them with all the server hopper poopooheads. Bring some friends too and help out a server that got screwed by the free xfer/paid announcement bullkitten.

Going to talk to my guild about transferring their. its only 5 of us and we all started on maguuma since launch and we loved it ive been torn between yaks bend and IoJ since everytime we face yaks bend they are all good sports and ive had some good fights 1v1 or 5v5 small groups, but maybe IoJ I want to help them rebuild because thats just messed up. I love maguuma and even said in a post I planned on staying there to stick it out from all the free transfers but after sitting for about a good 2hrs waiting for the queue to pop i just want my old wvw back with close fights and good people and less zerg balling.

I hear ya, Karma. I love YB, but honestly as much as we’d welcome some more dedicated W3 players I’d personally rather see a server that got screwed by the system get some love and aid instead in order to help promote more fun matches.

My friends and I have said as well that if we were ever to leave YB for whatever reason it would have to be to a smaller w3 pop server that could use some more dedicated PvPers. Joining a queued zergserver? We’d rather just quit playing the game than do that. I mean ew, just ew.

I’m also leaving, thinking SOS or Kaineng. Those two servers are where it’s at. Maybe I’ll transfer to both.

I don’t understand why you wouldn’t have transferred off when the big Mag zerg was rolling over the last few tier matchup’s smaller zergs. Blowouts are obviously what you’re craving, the easy win.

Yak’s Bend – despite being crushed by Maguuma the previous match-up since they clearly do not belong in T4, we still have several organized WvW guilds that have not jumped ship. In fact, we used the entire week to organize karma trains to encourage the lower levels and other folks who only PvE to join for some easy, stress free farm. Also serves well to train others.

We have a ton of people in the mumble channel and on prime times can field over 100 in the channel.

You can also join in on our mumble (details on website as listed above) and just ask around in any of the borderland channels.

On a side note,

The one thing that amazes me is that despite having several fairly large guilds on the server, there is no hostility or competition. Everyone works together as if we were one huge guild.

Modern Warfare Y [MW] has decided to make Maguuma our new home. We are all friends from the best shooter ever Modern Warfare. We are a super awesome guild that field 200 every night for 4 hours. We never wipe and also take anything we want whenever we want super quicklike.

This is all very true, and I don’t mean my post to sound as if I don’t enjoy being a yaker since launch. I still vote that the OP takes his group and boosts up a struggling server like loj that got population dropped because of bandwagoners.

@the guy talking about him looking for steamrolls: He said he was considering loj or YB. That’s hardly looking to jump ship for easy wins, otherwise he’d be jumping ship for a zerg server.

He was talking about the rest of us leaving, and there are ALOT. Everyone should jump ship right now. Maguuma is a dead server.

Holy hypocrisy telling someone to move to IOJ because they don’t enjoy their current WvW server. The guilds that left IOJ did so because we didn’t like the way our server was going.
But its ok you keep calling poopooheads because we want to enjoy the game, I guess you are still to bitter because you got rolled so hard last week?

I support these three too. Populated enough to be exciting but areas not overrun with people. Got good impressions of bay and yaks.

Take a whole 20 seconds, look at the top of this forum. Click on the server rankings, choose server a couple tiers below Maguuma. Profit.

T6-T-8. Every other server is currently unbalanced or poop tiers.

Glad to see someone is using the free transfers for good and not evil.

Everyone should transfer to mag.

At least I seriously hope you are just doing your usual “don’t come here and please leave now” schtick. If not, OP aside, anybody who jumps from their server as soon as some adversity arises…well, it doesn’t bode well.

To the OP. I’m on Kaineng and we have lots of smaller group fights, even on reset nights. It’s by no means necessary to have to run in large zergs. We have tons of people who love small group WvW, despite our relatively new reputation as a ‘MEGA Zerg server". I have fun sticking to smaller back and forth battles and don’t have much trouble finding them, except perhaps later in the match up the last few weeks.

Also, there are longer queues for us now, so something to consider perhaps. I found the wait well worth it last night however.

Edit: Perhaps you are actually on Kaineng? I should have asked first. But, you’ll also note that I never said “solo or small group roamers”. I said “smaller group fights”. Solo in higher tiers is obviously not going to be fun or worth while. There’s lots of fun back and forth fights, relatively speaking. It’s the only kind of fighting I do in there.

I need map completion too! Maguuma is dead, long live Sea of Sorrows!

This! Maguuma is having some trouble maintaining their coverage in T3. Their roaming zbs are only 38 strong instead of 40+. People, this is a travesty! Join Maguuma now and aid in the zer…. uh, war effort today!

Oh I forgot to mention that Mag provides training sessions/bootcamp for any type of players, whether you are a newbie or an advanced WvW-er, even for commanders.

The trick here is yaks are preventing people from transferring to them, because it’s so much fun on that server! Don’t fall for their tricks. I transferred yesterday and had a great time. See you all there, Maguumites!

Maguma doesn’t have a oceanic presence. no profit at all. look at the score now.

I want to bump this comment. If you look at the last 2 weeks Yak’s bend has managed to continue to go up in rating even though they were getting steam rolled. That is a very hard thing to do.

They are a very good fit for the tier they are in.
