Can this be disabled for WvW please?

I said the same line 3-4 times because chat was flooded with spam, so I had to make something very important clear. Normally I get this very often even for saying 2 things but usually it passes after a few seconds, however for some reason right now I’ve had it for over 15 minutes.

15 minutes is a long time in WvW, and very often I am one of only a few people making calls in pugs, which by default means I have to repeat everything atleast twice. This limitation prevented me from saying ANYTHING with any means, and we actually lost a keep during this period.

Please remove this from WvW, or atleast reduce it.

I just logged off WvW for the exact same reason. I was trying to announce attacks on different keeps and I couldn’t even call them.

The last thing I said online was “I think all the other servers are waking up now” then when I went to say “attack on x” or to even link the waypoint, I got suppressed.

I hear you. After one incident I have since learned to alter the message each time and it hasn’t happened to me again. I think I was blocked for an hour or something – it was absurd, and very frustrating when needing to call for backup when no one else is (because most people in WvW never say anything at all).

I understand that it’s a measure to combat spamming. But the length of time you are blocked for is excessive. You can always block actual spammers.

doesn’t seem to be a problem on nsp. never seen any kind of spammy conversation. just directions.

maybe you should be talking to the people involved?

This exact same situation happened to me. No one had noticed that the enemy treb had brought (insert) wall to 5%. So I spammed the team chat that it was at 5%. The commander came over, the zerg with him and we pushed the invaders back. Then I got silenced for over 10 minutes…..

Happened the other night to me as the only commander in a borderland and it was definitely inconvenient! Thanks for the suggestion, Joriarty!

It’s happening with messaging system as well. My friends frequently send me items to craft seeing as I’ve hit 400 with my crafting skills, but sometimes he’ll get suppressed for “excessive messaging”. We’ve tried altering how we type things.

Even simple things as when you die and someone res’s you, the constant “thanks” or “ty” can get you suppressed. Rather annoying. I can see why it’s in place, but at the same time it shouldn’t block things like that.

WvW is the worst for being suppressed though. As stated in my original post. You can’t warn of attacks if you can’t speak. I’m at the point now that I sit on voice chat with my friends and don’t worry about /party chat because of the suppression feature.
