When are people going to figure out there’s a war going on?

This might be a bit complicated or hard to add to the game, but I wanted to run it by the players and see what you guys think of an idea I had to improve WvW….
First, I believe a major flaw with the current WvW game is that once a server establishes a large enough lead, the other two servers start to lose interest. This makes it very difficult for a server to make a comeback after the first couple of days, and leads to another problem with unbalanced sides…. many times one server greatly outnumbers the others. This can make WvW boring for both the outnumbred side and the server with a large advantage. Not fun being rolled 3 to 1… but not fun rolling over people easily either.
My idea then is to link each tier with the tiers around them.
For example….
My server, Crystal Desert is currently winning it’s tier 4 matchup, with Maguuma in 2nd and Darkhaven in 3rd.
In this situation Darkhaven would become alied with the server currently winning the tier 5 matchup. Those players from tier 5 are givin a choice to enter tier 4 as Darkhaven’s allies, and help there instead of remaining in the tier 5 match where they’re already winning.
Crystal Desert players would have the choice to enter the tier 3 battle and help the last place server there. Helping other servers would earn bonus points for your server back in your own tier.
This could help to keep last place servers in the game, while balancing out the maps a bit.
What do you all think?

The reason this will not work is, maguuma was up by 7k over darkhaven as of 2 hours ago when I logged… and down by 10 in potential to them. Let’s say a new server comes in and allies themselves with darkhaven, do you think it would be hard to push them over the 7k point difference with 2 servers?
“Guesting” as ANet calls it is already coming. It is, as far as I can tell, their way to negate the cries over night/morning capping.
I don’t know exactly how this guesting thing will work but it would mean you could play WvWvW on a different server outside of your matchup. Whether or not that is limited to tiers below your own tier or you could visit higher tiers, I don’t know. But something like what you are saying is in the making.

Hmmmm thanks for the input, but I’m not really sure what you mean. I don’t really think the allied server will make a huge difference as far as points go, the most they could do would be to help the 3rd place team make 2nd, then they would switch and need to help the new 3rd place regain their spot.
1st place would also have to make sure they kept enough people in their own maps to hold onto the 1st place spot.
The idea wasn’t meant to make 2 servers into a super team. Just to even things out a bit so that the lower scoring servers would have a way to keep their numbers up a little.

Guesting is coming up and it’s meant for all content BUT WvWvW afaik

Well, that would be nice if it worked, but it doesn’t.
Outmanned → Create two buffs (Mildly Outmanned and Severely Outammaned ) and give them proper Offensive, Defensive and Support buffs instead of that crap that does not increases competitivity!
Types of bonus:
Defensive:
Toughness,
Vitality
Offensive:
Power
Condition Dmg
Support
can carry +5 supplies
upgrades getting cheaper (10%-20%)
Even if players loose interest, the server stays competitive. If the server stays competitive, the interest will come again! (You can observe this behavior when you are winning everyone comes, and when you are loosing, everyone goes!)

Has nothing to do with “giving up”…. it’s about interst. When your server is far in the lead it’s no where near as interesting to go in and take points easily from outmanned servers.
When your server is far out numbered it’s not as fun or interesting to go in and get zerged for a few points that wont make a difference in the over all score.
It’s not as simple as you’re pretending it is. Each week starts off with some servers simply way outnumberd. Sure anyone can go into Lion’s Arch and try to “raise moral” but the fact is, the players who are interested in WvW are already there.
An outnumbered server doesn’t have much hope of adding a large number of players to their side within a week.
Like I said I am spoiled by my server’s inability to give up.
Outnumbered or not, they go in and fight. Weather they lose all upgrades over night, get pushed to spawn, ect… I never said it was simple, I only stated my server has spoiled me by being one of the ones who never gives up even when outmanned and losing all ground.
I am sorry you thought I was speaking about all servers, which I wasn’t. I was only making a comment based on the server which I am on, and what some other servers do. As for rallying people, it does work, provided the people on your server all like to fight, and not just 10-15% of the server. (I had to rally people from fotm the other morning, and Orr.)
Also by now most matches shouldn’t be win, or lose off the bat within 1day. Unless they have one of the falling servers in their match. Also about outnumbered I’ve been there before. SoS has many more then SoR in WvW, especially during night time for NA.
