I think saying we’ve had enough of it is pretty much redundant at this point. It’s not like there’s some little miscellaneous issue with it that’s difficult to catch, they’ve designed some things around it perfectly and let others rot; it’s obviously not a priority for them that we can use most armour in the game without looking stupid. Hell, they just don’t care. Cultural armour blatantly designed as though whoever made it didn’t even know it was exclusive to a race with tails pretty much gave that away long ago, and then there’s the CoF stuff that actually has a visual effect on the tail and still isn’t designed to fit around one.

well yes, yes i am…i have 8 charr toons i love the charr…except for the art departments apparent lack okittennowledgement that they have tails. even the new armor they have designed clips with the tail…

putting a hole or a cut in a 3d model isnt that hard to do, granted i dont know what program they use.

but it seems to me that if you design a race with a tail…that you should make the armor fit them as well.

I’ve had enough of tail clipping, and floating shoulders on female charr, and horn clipping on helmets, and outfits that simply look stupid!
The charr get shafted visually on a regular basis. If you’re not willing to create clothing that accommodates a race, why would you include that race to begin with???

Stop clipping, stop shoulders horribly floating, stop armors to be so stretched on my poor Charr toons, plse do it.
I love my cultural medium, but we got 3, and yes light t3 why?
At least give us some more Charr culture armors, u did a great job with almost all of them.
Really let us enjoy our Charrs at 360 degrees.

Definitely need more armour that takes tails into account. I also dislike helms/hoods that mess with my Charr’s horns, but there at least there are alternatives. Light armour is especially hard to find a good fit on charr.

Its definitely annoying.

Its kind of sad that I get excited when I find a non-cultural set that doesn’t clip with the tail (I was quite happy when I previewed the Priory medium armor on my Charr and noticed it, for example). I should get excited by the design of the armor, not because it has a hole for my tail >.>

i got excited when i saw that the starter armor for necromancers has a hole for the tail.

I’ve been wondering that ever since I bought this game. Some things they’ve decided to overlook I’m amazed would end up in a product for sale, much less go on to be ignored for almost a year.

Reminds me of playing Vanguard, back when they basically said the internals of the game were such a terrible shocking mess they’d be putting new content on hold indefinitely while they try to fix it.

My Charr fellas said everything that has to be said. Every player using a Charr is annoyed by this things, and we should complain about it because that’s the only way to let ANet know that is something more important than they think.

In a game like this, strongly focused on the looks (all the end game is about that), this kind of things are important. You spend hundred of hours getting the look you want, and then you find that it’s not ok because the armor is not correctly modeled for a whole race. Not right.

this exactly! i was going to get my guardian equipped with all Draconic armor…only to find out it has issues with the tail and the shoulders.

every couple of hours bump this thread so that it doesnt die off like all the other ones! its the only its every going to be fixed!!

I don’t think they care at all..My question is how hard it is to fix? Its must be depressing to make a hole for tail really..Just delete this race and reroll ur to whatever we like behind charr if a hole for tails is too much work…

i think they only care if enough people want it, and seeing as how not many people post in the races threads….the only way they will care, is if this gets to at least 4 pages.

Yes fellow charr players please keep supporting this thread! If we light the fire big enough they might do something or at least answer us.

It is not only the tail, but horns and ears too
It shouldn’t be that hard to make room in the armor for those…

they will care if this thread stays alive and active and enough people complain about. start asking people in Lions arch if they hate charr tail clipping! if they do…point them here and have them say something.

We shouldn’t have to say anything. Charr are already by far the least played race and Anet knows that. They should have some kittening understanding that there is something wrong here. They should have some kittening understanding that this is the reason. Charr are hideous in almost every aspect of the game. They are the joke race at this point. Armor floats off their body, stupid animations and bugs persist, and THEIR TAIL GO THROUGH EVERYTHING!

It’s so infuriating that they could make a race with a tail and not accommodate armor for them. If Anet wants to ignore my tail, I want to be able to cut it off. If Anet wants to ignore my horns, I want to be able to cut them off. If Anet wants to keep making kittened tower-like pouldrons, I want to be able to change races…

Anet gets praised for their attention to detail then they’re able to look past such a glaring issue as though it doesn’t exist. This game’s main incentive is kittening dress-up, but all the dresses are kittened kitten.

Just as the tail clipping issue doesn’t exist to Anet, the armor that has tail clipping doesn’t exist to me. Just as the tail clipping issues doesn’t exist to Anet, the Charr race doesn’t exist to 90% of the GW2 playerbase.

Just let us go naked already. The Charr models are fully textured and well-modeled at a G rating, and Charr have no concept of modesty.

(Still supporting a change. We always roll our eyes at all the tail clipping and horribly stretched textures. If a 100% across the board armor fix is reached ever in the game’s lifespan, I’ll probably be happy. EQ2 took a while to fix Iksar, but they did it eventually.)

‘Odd’ for sure. While it’s possible they could make additional changes before it’s really released, I’m not exactly optimistic at this point. I’d prefer to be, but I’m not going to just keep on hoping forever without them giving me a reason. It’s hard to imagine it happening, especially in a game so heavily about appearance, but the evidence seems to suggest they genuinely do not care about this at all.

It’s pretty discouraging for me when it comes to supporting this game, there’s certainly no way I’d spend money on skins that don’t even properly fit the character I’d want to put them on – much less considering they’re also one-time-use rather than the permanent unlocks I’ve bought for other games in the past. Even if they did design one or two for us occasionally, I’d probably still avoid it until they showed signs of being willing to correct existing skins and take it into account thereafter: I’m not going to encourage a company that decides if you choose x thing in the game you just have to accept getting less quality than everyone else. If they aren’t willing to support it, it simply should never have been there to begin with.

As for future games and expansions, I’m definitely going to make a point to investigate stuff like this before I buy anything, because early access and a few token items aren’t worth trusting cherry-picked video footage and head-on screenshots of character models, only to find out the majority of armour skins (and even a lot of weapons!) look utterly stupid on my character.

I don’t even agree with this. I made a Charr warrior recently and I’m still having a lot of trouble. It really is embarrassing.

Olny a few heavy armors doesnt not clipping with tail. Too bad most of them are terrible anyway. i won’t even commends helmets.

+1, we need our armors fixed. I’m not going to rant and rave about it, but as loyal Legionnaires, we need our gear working properly!

I really wish they would do something about this. The tail clipping just looks bad.

Let’s support both threads. Make even more, I just want this to be fixed, or get an answer that WHY is it so hard to care about a race. Are they even reading this section of the forum btw?…I only see one dev comment here saying he plays a charr female, awesome….and that was a long time ago aswell.

Really disappointed the new armor clips. I realize ANET is on a budget, but this game eventually needs some polish for Charr and Sylvari clipping/stretching issues.

Armor has hole for the tail and the leather curves on top of the tail not thru it.

I did notice the armor and did not notice a hole. I didn’t get a close look but I was pretty sure at that point they hadn’t fixed anything and they never would.

Honest to God almost every single medium male armor for charr has tail clipping. I’m really getting tired of this ANet. Please do something about this soon.

Medium armour is the worst offender for this some coats have a split in the back and that works fine, so why didn’t they do this for all the leather coats? Even guild armour clips

And don’t forget the new aetherblade armors! They also clip. COME ON Anet, is it so hard to assign 1 person to cut a hole in the armors for the tail? It’s so ugly :/

I’m a returning player. Aside from dusting off my old characters I also made a new charrmer because I love the charr, want to try the class, and hate how skimpy the light armors look on other female characters. Imagine my unpleasant surprise when I realized that a) many of the armor sets look oddly distorted on the charr and b) hardly anything takes the tail into account. I had not really noticed either issue with my charrior, but now I certainly do. In a game that revolves quite a bit about visuals and visual customization, it’s just disappointing that one species feels like a distant second fiddle when it comes to gear actually looking good on them. Please fix this, at least for future outfits!

My favorite race in the game is the charr but of my 7 characters only 1 is charr. The reason is the clipping and the human armor looking bad on them. I feel like forced to play something else to look acceptable.

I can understand why it may take awhile to fix old armors that have tail clipping issues, but I don’t see a reason why new armors should have this problem too! Seriously! Why does the new aetherblade armor not take the Charr tail into account??? :( SO SAD.

Clipping is one thing, it annoys the hell out of me too…
But I dont know who on earth shaped the armors on charr, since it looks like a lazy work… tail clips, textures just strech out, most of the armor that has a longer skirt-like thing is just awefully steched to the side and the list could go on.
But for the love of god… who on earth designed the helmets on charr oO excluding some of the minor good ones that actually look great (some cultural, light, medium, few heavy) most of them look utterly stupid oO I think I dont need to mention a lot… every light and medium armor user charr has a hard time finding a gear that dont look ridiculus on it. Not to mention masks/hoods or face protector helms (like gladiator or armageddon) that either misses the mask part totally or its shifted to the top of the head (which looks kitten silly oO)
Or, my other fave is the Arah light set’s shoulders X) I cant decide to laugh or cry x) wonder why did they made the oversized chicken wings thing on charr, while it looks quite menacing and cool on other races oO yes even on asura lol x)

Actually I dont know why the desing team doing that with charr… I know it would need extra care and modeling on most of the armors to make it look nice on charr… but MMOs for the most part has an important part, thats looks. Some pople care less, some really care a lot. Funny is, on the concept art they look so amazaing…
But in some of the clipping-streching armors… not so much x)

Another patch, and the clipping is still there… Is this even in your list of priorities Anet?It should be.

To be honest I am kinda slowly giving up on GW2. It’s sad, but meh. At least ESO is coming up soon and it will also have beast races without hunchbacks, so no more stretched and distorted armors. \o/

I notice they paid a lot of attention to how that monocle from AR would look on charr as well… lol.

I would be really gratefull, if some Anet guy could post something in this thread.

It’s amazing how many heavy armor Charr I see running around with tier 2 and 3 or even primeval (gem shop) leg armor because it doesn’t have clipping. As for medium and light armor Charr, I barely see any of those at all.
