Account/Display name

I was wondering if it’s possible to change my account/display name. I’ve been trying to find answers but couldn’t find anything. I would like to have something more personal.

Appreciate the help!

They will not change your account name. The reason is account names are used for tracking purposes. The only time they change account names are in cases when someone might have used their real name and Anet might change it for privacy purposes. The other time they will change account names is when someone has an inappropriate account name. Then they change it to an anagram and sometimes it’s pretty funny.

We can change your Account Name, which is the e-mail address associated with your account. Given the problems with some ISPs blocking our inbound e-mails, I can imagine that more than a few players will be changing to a different Account Name. Just submit a ticket and we’ll take care of it.

However, what I think you’re asking about is your Display Name and that is not something that we can change except in cases that pose a security risk. For instance, if someone inadvertently uses his/her first and last name as the Display Name — that would be risky in a security sense and we would change it. Changing from one secure name to another isn’t an option we offer at this time and may be something we do not offer in the future, in order to maintain accountability over an player’s involvement in the game.

I was the player who played GW2 in free in previous time(just try). Today i buy a CDK for GW2. I follow the registration steps 1.Enter the CDK, 2.fill in the information, but i dont know that i enter the account name which is the previous one(the free one). And i successed. After that i discover that my display name is shown as the previous one, not the one i created in registration. Is that my registration success? Because my account name is the same but the display name is not.

If you can enter the game and play, then you have successfully registered. The numbers, at least, always change from a trial to a full account. But, a Display name is associated with an Account Name (email address). I don’t think it can be changed with CS.

How about if you’re being stalked across multiple game platforms by a person you have a restraining order on because your display names are the same? (This is legit)

As stated above, CS changes Display Names if they are a security risk.

Not sure why you would necro an old post about changing your display name. They have the ability to block the person, and you can file an appeal if they have found a way around their blocks, but they won’t really go in and change the name because of a “claim” (I’m not saying it’s not true, but they won’t really go into the time to check, they will just not change it since it’s not a security risk, and tell you to block the person, and if they are still harassing you, they will deal with the person.) Otherwise, file a police report.

Only support can do that, you will need to make a ticket and discuss it with them.
