So I recently got my account back from a Hack, But in the account section the hackers ip addresses (multiple locations) are still listed as “Authorized Networks” Is there a way to remove them? Or does it even effect anything?…Been a while since I created my account and I dont even remember having to opt anything to be considered a authorized network from my ip address…is it just a section to show what ips have accessed the account overall ?

Actually I had already quit prior to the hack and had just returned recently to play the Christmas event stuff, so there wasnt really anything to lose…My toon was still there but the hacker obviously used him to bot because he was a higher lvl then I had left him >.> Sad part is not only can account hackers ruin ur day by stealing all ur items, but they can also do things on your account that can result in a Ban >.< doubly bad meh

you need to submit a ticket to remove the unauthorized ip from your whitelist. I recently discovered that I have a china ip in my whitelist which i never authorized and I’m still waiting the support to remove it. But I’d highly suggest you use longer and stronger password for email and gw2 account.

The things that puzzled me the most is that since the hacker was able to approve their ip in my whitelist they must have known my password for my email and my account in order to trigger the ip authentication email(which I never receive). But my account is still in one piece, nothing is missing so far. I scanned my computer with antivirus/malware and nothing was found and I always have the firewall running(incoming and outgoing traffic nothing unusual). I also checked my email recent login ip from this month and only my ip was shown. so the question is how did hacker approve their ip on my whitelist in the first place??? I hope someone with the IT background can explain to me what’s going on here? what am I missing? I dont wanna get hack what else can I do to improve my security other than anet’s suggestion?

Update

I just got the reply from the support

Hello,

The ability to manage previously approved or denied locations is not available at this time. If this feature becomes available in the future, it would be posted on our Guild Wars 2 Official site, http://www.guildwars2.com

OK I have been silent long enough. I have over 40 yrs in the computer industry. I’m a retired/disabled network engineer. And a list of qualifications a page long. Point is. YES THEY CAN REMOVE IT. And yes Gaile did say if you sent a email to support it WOULD be removed. In fact it was said that in the near future they would be making the ability available to US, the customers. Time for IT to step up please. Thank you.

Its an automated response. You have to reply to that email and ask them to remove unwanted/all remembered networks for your account.

no it’s not an automated response. I’ve already reply to this ticket twice and I’ve also let them know my home ip and specific hacker’s china ip which I want them to remove.

Obviously they want you to wait for the feature to be implemented, rather than tying down support doing it manually. How else do you explain it?

Intel Core i7 4790K @4.7 GHz, 32 GB 2133 MHz DDR3.
MSI GTX 1080 Sea Hawk EK X 2xSLI 2025 / 11016 MHz, liquid cooling custom loop.

I have a similar issue with the authorised location (IP), im waitting for Arena to remove this or for us to have the function to remove it. Hope they can come up with a quick solution to this, or there will be more accounts that is a risk of being hacked.

I got hacked last night/this morning and once I reset my password and got to poking around I noticed my authorized IP list is totally empty? Not even my own is listed, but it still wont prompt me for the goggle authenticator I added today after the hacking.

That is very disturbing, have you filed a ticket yet?

After that reply from support your best option would probably be waiting for Gaile to get wind of this discussion, she is likely the only one who can give you guys a reliable answer.

Well my 2nd ticket I filed for just the authorized IP being blank was closed and labeled as a duplicate to my “I was hacked” ticket.

Honestly, to me its two separate problems, but hopefully someone higher up reads this and can see whats going on, since I understand how someone going thru tickets might just combine them into one problem.

I just want to know exactly why my list is totally blank and how that impacts me using the authenticator to protect myself now. If its blank and I dont need to input a code, how do I know ANYONE would be prompted for a code to log into my account? At least seeing something in the list gives me a feeling of security.
