Anet, I’ve read that this feature will be available soon though I have not seen a release date. I currently have a level 80 character that I specifically do not play anymore due to some naming issues and would love to have this option available. Do you know about when we’ll be able to buy this on the market?

I would love to have this feature as well.

They don’t like to talk about something that is not ready to be rolled out yet.
So you won’t get dates. The best you can get is “we want to bring it out soon”. If that is the case. If not, you might not be satisfied with the answer anyway.

Please make it so for either the February or March update, my family of characters are in need of name changes to become more familiar to my guild and suitable to my new preferences

There will be many ppl who want to change there character name. I’m one of them.

A few questions….didn’t want to start a new topic.

What if I already reserved a name by creating a level 1 character.
How would the name change work then?
Do I have to delete the level 1 and wait 24 hours to name change?

What if I want to swap two level 80 character names.

Hopefully, I don’t have to delete any characters.

I’m curious about this as well ^^

As for swapping names, it gets more complex. Let’s wait for the feature to come out to learn how that would work.

No no no, it needn’t be so complex

If you absolutely must swap names of two of your characters and don’t want to delete one, then this should be the option you go through

1. Buy 3 name change contracts.
2. Change char A’s name to something unused
3. Change char B’s name to char A’s name (which is now free since 1) but reserved for you for 24 hrs)
4. Change char A’s name to char B’s name (which is also now free since 2) and reserved for you for 24 hrs)

4 simple steps to just plop that name change contract out in the gem store as it stands now, no need to overcomplicate its implementation.
