Hey, ever since this recent update I had 5 or more mails WITH items inside that have been now deleted. When I noticed is when I finally got rid of the 8 spammed messages from having my new wallet. Could these messages have overridden my messages with items in them? I know 100% sure I did not open them yet, I was saving the inventory space until I was ready to use and take the stuff. In total I had in my mail: Pheonix Armor, Magitek armor, Medium Aetherblade armor, 10g + desert rose skin, and 5g inside of my mailbox (waiting to record these items so I know how much I have donated to my guild tournament competition reward). I sent in a report ticket already but… Figured I would post here to see if others had the same issue, or if it is a bug that happened. I certainly hope I get refunded….

I think I just encountered this issue. A friend of mine sent me an endless toymaker’s tonic, and I had a bunch of those stupid wallet messages stuck in my inbox. I went through and deleted the repeated wallet messages as they were pointless/annoying/taking up space. Now the message with the tonic attached is gone, and I /know/ that the only mails I deleted was those stupid repeated wallet messages.

Having same problem, but in worst scenario possible. My karka chest email w/item is missing, and possibly some 0 crystal event items ive bought.

Hi, I have this EXACT problem!! My partner sent me a surprise gift from the gem store (Phoenix Armour) I kept the mail in my inbox – I usually keep his messages so I didn’t loot the item right away.

I’ve sent a support ticket with a reply asking me:
-Exact date and time (including time zone) when you received mail with the armor
-Estimated date and time (including time zone) when you believe the armor was lost.

After trying to give accurate times, and even a screenshot of the very personal message I got from my partner right before he sent me the gift (the msg even said “Gift to follow…” at the very end) They told me:

We have concluded our investigation into the lost item that you reported. We were not able to verify this particular item loss in our records. It’s not possible for the Guild Wars 2 Support Team to provide this restoration without independently verifying it. I’m very sorry that we were not able to do more for you this time. If the user wants his gems back he would have to contact us himself but I cannot guarantee any restoration.

I would be very heartbroken if no restoration can be provided. I’ve even considered investing in some gems every other month, because I love the game so much, even though I can’t really afford to.

So, if sending a ticket to support doesn’t help, what do I have to do? I’m even on the verge of asking Reddit for advice!

Already do have a ticket up and pending… I guess the question is will we get refunded even if you do fix this issue. Is there a way to view past mail received, so you can accurately refund us? Not too worried about the fix…should be easily replicated, and a fix could be just to send a single account wide message stating that to have all items in your wallet, you must log onto each character. But everything is always easier said than done.

I really hope anet refunds the people that deserve it…because this is not a player error, the mailbox is suppose to hold the mail in some sort of overflow….

Another suggestion for a fix is to send it like you do the living story messages….in a single message that does not compete with player or BLTC messages. Or it could be sent like the dungeon ones, where each character gets a dungeon message, and that also does not compete with overflowing the mailbox. That way each character gets the message, and your mailbox is not spammed with the same message 5+ times.

Yeah, it seems like a big design flaw on their end. Normally they do tell us new things on separate messages that are single account wide, or a separate message for each character, unless we receive messages from NPCs in game.

I have little hopes that they will retrieve our lost items after what I have read and my previous experiences with the Support team, but if there any chance it is worth to try.

Its not looking great to retrieve the items from deleted mails considering they are unable to trace the deleted ones.
Losing ingames items are a inconvience but when its gem items paid with real cash is a major kick in your teeth

No new updates? I also received the reply telling me that they will contact me when they have things sorted out or something…
I see they have added new items on the gem store… There is NO way I ever buy gems again unless they fix my/our issue. Actually, I’m not sure I would even continue playing GW2 if that is the case.

I just submitted this same problem via support and I am really hoping to resolve it soon. I thought that it would be a widespread thing. and knew it had to do with the recent update because that is when it happened. When I realized that the event was over and I couldn’t get the rucksack anymore. I traded my brother my only rose and the dragon wings I didn’t want from dragon bash for the rucksack. Unfortunately he never got them and they are either gone forever or in some sort of lost mail limbo dancing on the moon. I tried so hard to get that rucksack playing that minigame which was pretty fun. I even got some exotics from the chests but never the backpiece. I sent him a lot of stuff regularly because he doesn’t play much and I am trying to get him more into the game. Anyway Somehow I hope this issue can be resolved. As said by previous posters this problem shouldn’t be an issue, but I feel anet really does not want to make trading a thing and continue to tax us via the BLTP. I love this game and I really don’t want this to be my breaking point.

After reading through more of your messages here I have very little faith that they can or will do anything about this issue. I suppose it was my fault for trusting this faulty mail system. I had an encounter once where another player wanted an item I linked in mail from a world boss chest. I told him I would give it to him for 2 ectos, and sent him the exotic dagger. To me it was no big deal. he stated my box was full when it was not. in the end I got over it. it was just a measly exotic dagger. no big deal.

this however, is crushing me. I have lost a lot from this, more than I can take. It should not have happened and if it isn’t reversible then.. I regret buying that stupid noise maker just to support such a lacking company lol. I really need to see some hope here everyone, cause I want to keep playing. yet I am a voter, and if my dollars don’t count, you won’t see them. not ever again. —> ask microsoft they know very well.

Support should CERTAINLY be able to trace back an email coming form a Gem Store purchase.

Items from player to player are another thing, however.
