Disappointed
Good thread, doesn’t describe the issue you’re having at all besides the fact there is an issue. You can try going the route of submitting a technical support ticket to ArenaNet, but I haven’t heard too much good from that, or you can describe the problem you’re having and we might be able to assist you.
As for a refund, you have to contact ArenaNet directly, not through a forum thread.

I imagine for those problems resolved via ticket, we probably don’t hear from them much after that considering forums are about 90% complaint and 10% positive/problem solved.
I didn’t think it was necessary to describe the problems I am having with GW2 again as I have reported those in this forum several times before. However, here are the problems again. I log into the game, get to the character select page, then select a character and log into the game. Immediately my screen starts to freeze in short bursts, several seconds each, then the screen goes black and I have to reboot my computer. I cannot play the game at all. This started occuring immediately after the patches of 3/26/13. There have been no changes in my computer, only changes in the game.
I purchased the game in good faith. It ran well before the patches of 3/26/13. ArenaNet caused the problems I am having, ArenaNet should fix them. Am I mad? You betcha. I’m kitten at ArenaNet. If ArenaNet is working on a solution, please say so, I can wait. If not, then I think it is only fair to refund my purchase price. I can run other games with no problems at all, I only have problems with GW2. It’s really quite a shame because I have made several very good friends in GW2.
Nice to know we are still free to write what we feel. The forum just substituted the word “kitten” above for the word I used which was “p_ss_d”.
It has been over a month since the patches of 3/26/13 made it so I cannot play GW2. I have seen no improvement since that date. I am very very disappointed that nothing has been done to fix the problem. All my drivers are current, I have no computer problems and can play other games with no problem. I paid $59.99 for GW2. I would like a refund if you are not going to fix the problems you created by those patches. If you have a shred of morals and decency you will refund my purchase price.
Your entire post history contains of posts about Gw2 running like crap. Please admit there is something wrong with YOUR pc and stop blaming anet..You have never in all your threads/posts not once described your Full pc specs,or told that you even tried to repair your client or delete the local.dat.All you do is complain and complain without providing Any information and just think the problem will get magically fixed somehow, and then you just blame anet some more.Great way to get help!

Honestly, in my opinion, forums aren’t the best way to get help, they are great if someone else had your problem and solved it, but otherwise, a personal solution via ticket is probably best. Really, you need to read the stickies and search the other posts here and dig deep for solutions. If you truly wanted help, you’d give details so others could help you, as described by Caed.
If you refuse to post exact details or fill out a ticket, run down the list of suggestions Caed listed (you can find how to do them by looking around this forum). And while you’re at it, check for updated video card drivers and updates for direct x (as the minor description you listed sounds graphical). Make sure your windows is also fully updated.
If those don’t work or you don’t care to try them, submit a ticket to the pros, but you have to be very specific, I’d read the sticky about submitting tickets too.

^^ I second this.
Your problem looks rather isolated. If you don’t want to troubleshoot software problems then clean reformat and re-install OS/drivers/game.

Technical Support
Hi Paribo – As others have stated, I’d highly recommend creating a technical support ticket so that we can better assist you one on one if forum posts haven’t helped you resolve this issue in the past.
We genuinely want to get the game working for you if possible and I’d hate to see you resort to a refund request if you really want to play.
Whichever you’re requesting – technical support assistance or request for a refund, a support ticket would be the best way to go. The thread below should give you more info in regards to contacting support:
