So was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this. I have put in a support ticket, but wondered if others were seeing this happening too?

So I had a password that I had been using for a year suddenly stop working a day ago. I checked the password 10 times, checked to make sure there were no capslocks, etc .. all the basic stuff and nope, GW2 forums and game rejected it.

So I went through the process of resetting the password, and put in a support ticket and went back to playing the game. My account was not inactive, I’ve played every day pretty much since launch.

Last night when I went to bed, the new password was working correctly.

Today, I wake up and try to log in, and same thing as yesterday. The new password is rejected and I have to repeat the process of resetting my password all over again.

Anyone else seeing this?

Nothing has been taken from my account and all appears normal when I log in. Resetting my password yesterday should have worked today, but it didn’t.

My concern is that player database accounts have been somehow compromised like that SOE disaster in 2011 (http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/sony-online-entertainment-hacked-some-credit-card-info-taken-123509), and player credit card information has been accessed.

Otherwise it’s just an annoying bug.

If it’s just me experiencing it, could be a glitch with my account. But if there are others …

Someone else was saying something like this on a previous thread. I referred him to the Tech Support forum and he made a thread which you can read here if you want to discuss it and see if it’s the same issue.

Yep that some1 is me..lol.I have same problem and start yesterday at morning.You reset your password and it works for about 10 sec….if you dont login in those 10 sec then you need to make new password…everytime you log off you need to make new password.Ok good thing is that this seems like some error not hack and anet will sure notice this.All we can do is wait :/.In case your gets fixed tell me please xD

My issue isn’t exactly the same as yours Saalle. Once I change the password in the morning, it works all day until I log out for the night. I’ve even tried logging in again several times before I head out to see if the password still works and it does. Logs me in no issue.

It’s only when I get up the next day that it seems to be borked overnight.

Just a heads up to anyone else experiencing this, I took the advice of someone in some thread and unticked the “remember password” box and it appears manually typing in your password each time you log in fixes the issue.

The very same thing happened to me and my brother in law. We both reset our account passwords yesterday (trying to get back to the game) and the password has stopped working overnight.

I was able to change mine but he can’t, as he currently have no characters on his account and the reset password page asks him for a character name (he deleted his only character to change server and play with me).

This was a minor inconvenience for me (I was forced to come up with yet another new password) and a major one for him, as he cannot currently restore his password account. He already submitted a support ticket, let’s see how it goes.

Is this a known issue?
