Guild Bank "hacked"
No, Anet doesn’t recover guild banks when they do account roll backs. Only personal banks are restored.

They wont restore anything in your guild bank. And unless Anet finally brings in passwords protected guild vaults you shouldnt store anything in the guild bank.
Wow, password protected guild banks, that’s a good idea you know I’ve never seen a game ever do that, they really should though. Especially since Anet isn’t exactly offering a roll back on those. To be honest, I came here looking for other guild bank issues myself, I’m probably going to quit the game now though.
Friend got hacked, was just us two sharing a guild bank, and they won’t restore it when this hack just sold like the last six months of my crafting supplies I’ve hoarded, I really don’t have time to throw all that kind of stuff away. I really don’t like that this gets pooled into “guild politics” there is no politics about a hacked account stealing things
It’s not about “guild politics”. It’s simple. How many guild banks do they restore for a hack. If their was a big guild, whose bank was stolen say 6-7 times, and they always restored it, that’s 6 times those items are being put into the game economy. It would ruin it. I know a guild that was storing about 10 precussors for their guild members. If that was stolen even 2 times, just think of the amount of money the game would have created because of hacks. Anet has to draw the line. Guild banks not getting restored is one of them.

The idea of password protection in intriguing, but I wanted to say that from my perspective, and I’ve been looking at support issues since 2004, there is no guarantees with any system.
How does a guild bank get pilfered? Here are a few ways:
- Guild member gets hacked and the thief sashays into the bank using his/her victim’s guild bank access in order to loot the bank.
- Guild member shares an account and the second person strips the bank. Never share accounts.
- Guild member resells his account and gives access to an unknown person. Never resell accounts; never buy used accounts.
- Guild member steps away from his unsecured computer and is victim of The Evil Little Brother Syndrome™.
- Guild member gets a key-logger or Trojan which, if you think about it, also would give a hacker access to the guild bank password.
- Unscrupulous person joins guild, gets bank access, strips the guild and takes off for high ground.
Guild Banks are a marvelous thing, but in the end, the guild must be very careful about who has access and must be fair enough to realize that items stolen can be sold, traded, even given to innocent people, so the thought of “chasing the items and gold” is not feasible or fair. The idea of simply duplicating the items and gold and handing them to the guild could be extremely harmful to the game economy as a whole.
Bottom line (expressed with complete sympathy for victims): Own your security.
