So I idiotically salvaged a set of gloves on which I had placed the Phalanx skin I bought from the Gem Store.

After a few days, I have been refunded the gems with which to re-purchase the Phalanx skin. I applied the gloves skin to another piece of armour, and have deleted the rest of the set, so that I have not gained from my own error.

Many thanks to the support staff that have helped me restore my full Phalanx armour set!

I accidently deleted some expensive items as well because of the way the pvp items dont show up on your characters if they are in pve and I was told there was nothing they could do. I even purchased a ton of gems to convert to gold to do it too. Thanks a lot.

As I said: Each case is unique and what we are able to offer can vary. Sometimes we’re able to help more than in other cases — it all depends on the exact circumstances and the details of the situation at hand.

I just went through my email and Im assuming I deleted any email related to the ticket so unless there is somewhere else I can look I doubt Ill find the number and it was about a month ago. I bought gems and converted them to gold so I could buy the super greatsword skin and the super focus skin to convert to pvp but because they were equipped in pvp, when I was in pve it appeared that all my items were cleared off that character so I deleted it to make room for a new character I wanted to play, not realizing my weapons were actually on him.

I had only been playing for a month at the time so I never knew that was how it worked and wasted my money.

Sorry to hear of your lost items, Stealthasaur, and I apologise if my thread of gratitude has caused a problem.

In my case, the item was easily ‘refunded’ although the fault was entirely my own. The only thing Anet could do was refund me the gems and, I guess, just trust that I would not use the skin parts which I was not really entitled to. I felt that such trust was worthy of a shout-out.

The same has happened to me with unrefundable items. I left my Mad King’s Tome on a trial character which I deleted. In that case, the item was non-refundable and is gone forever. Each individual situation is, indeed, individual.

Something similar happened to me, but with a different outcome.

I transmuted my phoenix vest to a low level chest piece just to see how it looks on my character (it’s better than preview and i didn’t care much about using 1 more transmutation crystal later).
After having some nice dungeon runs i simply forgot it was still in my inventory.
Walking to the merchant i accidently sold it since the sell list does not show the phoenix vest icon, but the cheap low level one which i transmuted it on.

Noticed it some hours later so i couldn’t rebuy.

In the second mail I sent to the german support I even made the suggestion of deleting all my other parts (wasn’t even necessary in your case if I got this right?) , but there was really nothing they could do they said..

My tone was really polite and not aggressive in any way, so what’s the difference between me and the OP?
Should I talk to the english support next time?

I admit that I was astonished that I was offered assistance as I freely acknowledged that it was my error. The only difference I can think of is that while my item was an lvl 2x one, because of the Phalanx skin, the title was yellow… therefore I expected that it would have a warning message.

I was asked for the exact time of salvaging, the map area, character name, server, exact name and level of the item and so forth. I guess this was for verification, and they did state all along that they were unsure that anything could be done.

I would post the names of the GMs that helped me, but I am concerned that they would be bombarded with requests!
