Name Changing? [merged]
Currently they don’t change name without valid reasons, and i think that wanting the name for a new character isn’t one of them.
As i remember there is going to be “name change” function in BLTP. But when it will be available i don’t know.

We will be adding a feature that allows you to change your character’s name quite soon. This will be offered through the Gem Store, or the Black Lion Trading Company.
We do not have plans to offer a feature for changing an account’s display name, but that may be offered in the BLTC in the distant future. No promises, I’m just noting that it may come down the line (or may not).

I’m familiar with the trademarked “soon”, but have not previously encountered a “quite soon”. I’m taking it this would suggest a reason for hope in regards to the time frame. Regardless, thank you very much for the update on this as many have been waiting for this.

I use “quite soon” with a patent pending.
I don’t want to build up anyone’s hopes, or make promises, but I do think it won’t be long!

Hey all,
I was going to edit the above post and then I thought this probably merited a separate post.
One of our community peeps has told me that people may have misinterpreted what I said previously and I wanted to clear this up. (Not that I was requested to do so, but just because I feel bad if someone thinks I said something I didn’t say. )
I did not say a date.
I did not indicate a month.
I did not suggest a build.
If we said this feature was “coming in the future” last fall — and we did — I simply wanted to indicate that it is indeed still coming and with the passing of months, it’s still on the list. Dates, timeframes, and build numbers may be someone’s speculation but they do not reflect my statement. Thanks for understanding!
