Orr Karma Gear
I get you may be new, but the items CLEARLY state SOULBOUND ON AQUIRE on their description so the implication that this is FULLY a “flawed” system is not actually the case. Your suggestion on how it SHOULD be designed is not a bad one, and I get you are frustrated, but making yourself out to be totally blameless in this is not entirely fair.

I know that Anet wont do anything about any account problems, but I needed to say that this is a horribly implemented system that seems like it wasn’t though through with the player in mind.

To play the devil’s advocate on the topic, you also have to remember that many karma items can be forged. Therefore, to restrict the items to your class would mean your class could only forge items related to your class.
Is it just me or is karma bought equipment always soulbound on acquire? Surely you would know that? (sorry for assuming, its just typically if you’ve played long enough to have an 80, you start to notice a trend in the karma items)
Just unlock the skins in your wardrobe and then forge the items themselves
I feel like karma stuff should be account bound AND soulbound on use, in case you accidentally bought something and wish to sell it back before soulbinding to character or just stash it in the bank for later use. Also useful would be a sellback feature for items you purchased on the current transaction as long as the same merchant window is open.

For real? When I accidentally crafted a set of zerker ascended armor (in a drunken haze) when I meant to craft soldiers, support told me I was SOL =(
Indeed. Quite the change in Policy. I’m sure many will be thrilled!
Really. I thought they were unable to credit an account with karma. Or perhaps they will send him another set of armor?
The armor was changed this evening , my post was more of a cry/whine because I believed the same as you guys. They helped me change the gear from soulbound to my Guardian to my Ranger. Really big thanks to Anet. (I will be more careful in the future)

This would definitely be the most appropriate solution, aside from the “selling back” part since you can’t generally sell things that you buy with karma.
The “soulbound on acquire” for such things is very much linked to the old karma system, in which each character had to build their karma separately. Ever since karma became account wide, the “soulbound on acquire” property for many of the karma-purchasable items simply does not make sense anymore. I know they’ve converted a lot of them to being account bound (i.e. the runes) possibly with soulbound on use, but there’s probably still some that they haven’t managed to convert yet.
