Wrongly accused of gold selling and receiving perma ban.
This has happened to a friend, not to me. He is unable to come here to ask for help.

It seems to be the exact same issue as listed here:

My friend isn’t a popular guy like Coron, but he is also a victim and it would be very much appreciated for help as soon as possible.

One of my Guild Mates mailed me Gold before to help me purchase an item, the Legendary Precursor, The Colossus.
Once I have earned enough Gold, I returned the amount he sent me.
The person involved is my Guildmate.
I am now assuming that the sending of Gold got me banned?
In that case, why does Anet even allow the sending of Gold? I do not understand, but I do understand that this is clearly not illegal as no monetary was profited from it from either of us, and we are FRIENDS, Guild mates even.

Now this is an alarming issue, so if a person sends X amount of Gold to someone. Arena will just ban them for that? Even when its a legit transfer, and not selling or buying gold in exchange of Real Money? I feel your pain (Your friends pain) and i hope this can be sorted out really soon.

Yea.. I was banned recently for a reason which I still have no idea. They will not provide me with evidence so I have no idea what I did wrong. If you type in “Arenanet bans” on google.. you’ll see literally thousands of cases of players getting banned for no reason. Another thing I don’t get is this was my very first offense and I was never given a warning of any sort.

Pretty much.. Arenanet just coerces you into buying the game, then treats you like you’re nothing. I even spent alot of money on gems and the way they are treating me is just wrong. They deleted one of my threads just now regarding why they haven’t sent me any evidence.. and they didn’t even give me a reason as to why the thread was deleted. I got a message in my inbox saying “this is an automated message to inform you that your thread has been removed by a moderator” nothing else.. it’s really just surprising to see an actual company treating their paying customers like this.

In real customer service NEVER would a company allow their employees to treat customers like this.. it’s really incredible that they just keep doing it as if they are freelancing or something. I saw a post here that was a WvW commander got banned just because the other entire enemy server reported him (they didn’t want him in the game, they wanted the other server to lose so they all reported him) and now he’s banned. Without evidence or reason he was banned just because some people reported him. That’s just wrong in every way shape and form.. That is just showing people that you can go on randomly reporting people and they’ll get banned.. pretty much telling all the trolls they can report anyone they don’t like and they’ll get banned.

Actually if you abuse the report system, and it gets noticed by Anet, you are ruined!

The game is amazingly made, but the support team really needs to get their act together. I wonder if it has anything to do with the holiday season right now. Or maybe there are a whole lot of wrongly banned cases to get through.

Anyway, it has been at least 4 days since my banned friend has sent in his ticket about this issue. With the other guy who got banned for gold selling, it was resolved within 3 hours

Just cause of popularity and the case got solved faster? Doesn’t seem right. The least Anet could do is just to give some responds that you guys are looking into it, or explain further the offence and not keeping our friend here in the dark, and it has been for days.

All of us have been play this game as a family, and when one of us gets banned, its sad. We wouldn’t even bother trying to post here to help him to get un banned if we or himself hated this game. Anet should look into this as soon as possible. =/

Come on Anet, my group of friends including LetheLuxuria.2641 were supposed to have a fun, friend-bonding time in dungeons during the weekends (because it’s the best time where all 5 of us can online at once). But our plans on weekends foiled because he was banned wrongly for something he never do and worse, there’s no proof at all.

I really do like this game, it’s one of the best game I’ve ever played. But I don’t like the management, please do something about it. Or at least get proof first before start the banning.

We understand there’s no perfect support team in any game but what’s with the double standard? Popular guy unbanned in 3 hours while our friend waited 4 days and not even a review on the sent ticket.

Luxuria already unbanned yesterday thanks Anet, just in time for Christmas. For anyone with similiar problem, don’t lose hope.

I was lucky enough to get the Legend on friday night. Having spent (gambled) all my gold in the mystic forge to get it. I couldnt afford to list it on the trading post. So I borrowed 25g off a guildy and then it sold Saturday night. I in return sent him back 50gold. I also sent 200gold to another friend so he could have the golden title. He sent the gold immediatley back.

Though I sent out 50 and 200 gold I haven’t been accused (and hopefully won’t be) but my friend whom I sent the 200gold to is now banned permenantly for being accused as a gold seller. He did nothing wrong but send me back my gold.
