Hello all,

I have just been suspended and was given no reason for it. I went afk to eat while i was in the LA instance and I came back to see i got kicked and reason was another client. I thought i d/ced so i logged back in and then couple minutes later same reason i got kicked. I relogged back in then my game got booted and I got suspended for 3 days with no reason given. I submitted a ticket and wanted to know if anyone else had this problem.

First off all, you will always get a reason. In the screen saying you are suspended, is also a reason. This is just one line. e.g. ‘For using a third party program’ or ‘inapropiate character name’.

You submitted a ticket and that is the right thing to do. Posting here does not help. If you didn’t recieve any viable answer within the next 72 hours, pls post in the designated sticky.

btw, on a side note, going afk in LA is in itself not a suspendable offense, but I personally find it an act of bad taste. You are not helping your map while afk, while keeping the spot that someone could get when you would go afk in any other map.

Also I know that for this reason the idle time in LA is pretty short. trying to prevent being kicked out for inactivity can be considered an exploit.

Hope you are, as you claim, innocent and all is solved soon enough.
And if there was an offense, you atleast would get some information. bout the reasons.

How can you say it is for the same thing?? What where you actually doing?? what is in the message??

I suspect you where using a trick to be AFK in LA while others activly where rescueing civilians so you get full credit for doing nothing. Mind me. The focus is on the word ‘trick’.

If you where using a trick, don’t mention what it is btw. Advertising an exploit is against the rule as well (and as this forum is public, well naming it would be advertising).

At the moment both of you are making a lot of noise, but are not giving any clear info. If your goal is to raise support for your issue, then I think you should help by saying the full error message as well as what you where doing. If you where not exploiting you can tell what you where doing cause it wouldnt be advertising an exploit.

But don’t point without giving any info pls.

Ok, keep in mind that support always suspends someone after they manually reviewed your actions. This means that your account could have been flagged suspiccious hours and even days ago. this flag only means that a GM is going to review (and you dont even get a notification. So the reason they suspended you can be days ago and have nothing to do with you going afk.

The term they used is a new one for me, but often the terms are from the rules of conduct.

There are three points where the word offensive is used there.
- in the rules about character names (but you wouldn’t get suspended for 72 hours on the first offense, but jsut a forced name change, and the message would tell you it is because of an inapropoiate name).
- For mis-using the report system (did you recently report someone, for the wrong reason?? I personally don’t think they would do this easily.

So. the question for you is wether you did something in the last few days that might have been considered offensive by others?? something that would fall into this text??

Maybe you recognise it now. if not you need to wait for an answer from support.

That message has nothing to do with you afking in LA.

This message has to do with something you said or did in-game that was found offensive by someone else and that could have happened days ago (there isn’t always time to look at reports the instant they come in to the team).

It could have to do with something you might have said in map chat but it has nothing to do with the afk in LA.

Not really past few days i just played 1hr just to do the la event on daily reset and log off i didnt even talk on map chat

Maybe they are using the term ‘Offensive Behavior’ for the somewhat minor offense of AFKing in LA, now. I don’t know. But, it is rather upsetting to others to see someone stuck up against a wall running in place. Taking someone else’s spot in the map. It deserves a slap on the wrist, perhaps.

It could have been something you said a week ago as well, support as I understand is a bit overwhelmed right now so things like processing offensive language reports may be delayed. Best to submit a ticket and wait for an answer.

From all the other threads, it seems going AFK in LA is the offensive behavior. Best to keep your AFKing under 5 minutes.

I talked to an ANet employee on Blackgate. I can confirm, from their mouth, that the AFKing is the offensive behavior in question, as it “degrades the experience” of others.

and have they realized that during daytime there is no one to play that and if you enter it that you might get stuck in a spot….i just stopped for like 10 secs to grab my coffee and got booted out of the map ..one guy said i was dead thing was nothing was around me and i was taking a breather getitng a drink a coffee……

if this game does this …we need to all go find a new game.I’ll add it not only boots me form the game but disconnects my net connection.

The game is not disconnecting your network, the network went down and that is what kicked you from the game.

Maybe this isn’t the proper forum to talk about our complaints of Qt Spy/Chris Clearly and ANet’s approach. Maybe we should direct the complaints to NCSoft directly?

Correct, this is not the forum. This is for players who have account issues, nothing more.

I doubt being AFK will have done that.. I had to go AFK the other day whilst in LA as my son woke up so I had to go straight to him. I had no issues, it was however finished when I got back which sucked as I was excited to join in =/
