Using 3D Ripper DX - Bannable?
There isn’t any way to get a 3rd party program approved. You have to weigh which is more important…your game account or the model. Good luck.
I would say as long as it does not give you ANY in game advantage, it does not violate the EULA….but that’s just my opinion. I doubt anyone at Anet is going to give you an “ok”, however.
I’d be more concerned with this possibly violating copyright laws (but that’s a stretch as well). My point is, no matter how you want to look at this, you do NOT own the rights to the image of your character nor the assets used to generate the image….Anet does.
In all honesty, I can’t see how Anet would know you are using this utility and as long as you don’t use it on a continual basis, I’m not sure how it could cause issues (again, my personal opinion….that means nothing in terms of any action against your account).

EULA has no clause about if it doesn’t give you an advantage as it pertains to game modifications.
EULA says no 3rd party modifications. Period.
Whether ANet considers a program to rip a character model for printing purposes a game modification is the question.
Again, I think calling this a “modification” would be a stretch and I would tend to say, this is in the same vein as using FRAPs or any other video capture program while playing the game.
DISCLAIMER: My opinion (and anyone other than an ANet employee’s) means squat on this issue. As mentioned above, Anet has consistently avoided declaring 3rd party programs as ‘ok’, so I’m betting this falls into the same category.
