What gets restored?
Anet cant do rollback.
Nothing. They will not restore any thing lost; either by your account getting breached, or by user error.
That which yields is not always weak.
“Can’t” or won’t? There is a difference and I believe it’s won’t.
“launch feature”? Rollbacks aren’t a launch feature. This is something that’s inherently valuable to all databases. If they truly can’t do rollbacks, I feel sorry for the future of this game. Or let me rephrase that. I feel sorry for the customers
They cant. Theyve gone on record on these forums and said that they cant restore any items or reimburse missing items. The development team have not added that facility into the game or CS tools.
They keep saying, that the cant do it YET. Too bad no1 knows when we can get rollbacks.

The Account Restoration feature is not in the game yet. We do not have a release date for this feature, but I don’t think it will be too long before CS is able to do restorations. A few things you’ll want to know:
- The restoration is account wide, not per item or per character.
- The account is captured in “snapshots” at various stages and the restoration is to the time immediately preceding the compromise.
- Obviously by reading the above, you will know that if you play on the account after a compromise event and then request a restoration, any gains between the “snapshot” and the date of restoration will be lost.
- Guild Wars accounts are restored only in cases of compromise, not for user error (like deleting an item or buying the wrong thing) or for failed player-to-player transactions. Restorations also are undertaken only if the team was able to ascertain all the details and block the responsible (hacker) account, in order to protect the game economy. We have not yet account policies for Guild Wars 2.

Thank you Gaile for the response, I really appreciate it.
But please, can you say 1 thing?
“I don’t think it will be too long before CS is able to do restorations”
What does this mean? I dont need a specific time, is it going to be avaible about 1-2week? Because I lost a lot of thing, but if I need to wait another 2week, then I just keep playing and try to farm all the things again.
The Account Restoration feature is not in the game yet.
I’m not trying to be disrespectful with my question, but can you tell us why? It just seems… weird, to launch the game without it.
You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.
But if a hacker already sold items or brought gold into the economy and you roll back the account doesn’t that create gold or items out of nowhere? I mean if the items already have new owners do they get doubled? Doesn’t that have an effect on the economy?
@DrakeWurrum
I think they really didn’t expect so many people to all reuse compromised credentials. I’ve got this conspiracy theory, pure unfounded speculation, that Blizzard actually gave a list of all former WoW players, myself included, along with their emails and old passwords to Chinese (at least from the IPs) hacking rings so that they could attempt to wreck havoc with the GW2 launch.
Basically, what ended up happening was you have 50 people (I’m guessing) in CS suddenly getting pounded with over 11,000 people with hack accounts all clamoring for special attention. You could hire more people to work CS, but you end up with a sudden surplus of people with inadequate training and even basic knowledge of the game. And what happens when the initial rush of hacking is resolved? No one actually enjoys handing out pink slips.
Also agree with Gahro’s concerns. I think that may be the biggest issue with implementing rollbacks. How do you help the victim without punishing the person who unwittingly bought stolen property off of the TP? And how do you achieve that without screwing over the rest of the players and the in game economy? And what do you do about the guy that decides he’s going to sell his * of Rage on the TP and then report his account hacked so he can get it back sell it again later?
Not directing this at the OP, but remember, just like in real life, not everyone who claims to be a victim may actually be one. So you can’t just create a rollback tool with no system of verifying claims and accounting for impact. There’s plenty of government programs to help the needy, and there’s no shortage of not so needy people taking advantage of said programs.
Thats an epic consiprarcy theory sds, which is all it is. If blizzard did that, there would be massive lawsuits, and they could be shut down overnight for breach of federal laws.
you realize that he was making a joke? i laughed, at least :p
Thats why i said it was an epic one. However, you need to remember who visits this site and reads threads. Thats how rumour gets spread.
