Q:

Hello all,

In this quest I only wanted to know more information about the Priory, NOT choosing their way. I wanted to follow the Vigil methods at all costs. I know this doesn’t mean I have chose to unite them permanently, but it pains me that “my story” has been poisoned by a Bug.

Can something be done about this or I’ll have to be forced with it? I’ll gladly appreciate it because I don’t like things to be chosen for me. Specially when I didn’t want to.

…still unsure about my main character.

I haven’t finished the quest, I’ve left my character there, with the rewards waiting to be claimed. ArenaNet, I need to know whether it’s reversible or not.

Thank you in advance.

This very same thing happened to me. At first I thought I had somehow wildly missclicked, but after talking a bit in area chat, I discovered this had happened to other people as well. At first I was incredibly upset and wouldn’t accept the reward or advance my character either.

I won’t spoil anything, but this is not your final choice. You will get to choose your actual order later on. Thought that might help if you want to continue playing that character. I went ahead and just went on with the Priory quest myself, despite being disheartened that my character would not choose that path. I hope they can correct it in the future.

Although it doesn’t seem important, it has affected me a little because the Story is supposed to be “Personal”, so suddenly it becomes a very important Bug. My character is still in the Grove, but the “Rewards Panel” keeps appearing (I exited the instance without accepting it, hoping it would be reset).

I would like an answer to this as well. I mainly play the game for the story, so this bugs me a lot -no pun intended- …

Sorry to be a tad impatient, but I really want to know something about this.

I’m probably missing something, but you do not seem to describe properly what you’re problem really is/was. Did you do something and the result was not what you expect?

For what its worth, I’ve done this quest few days ago and nothing seemed wrong with it. After the story talk, you have your own time to decide – you can talk to all representatives, ask them about their orders, their solutions and what they think about solutions of others. Once you’ve decided, you engage into talk with one of them and lead the dialog to the place where you clearly say something like “Ok, let’s do it your way” and it has a different dialogue icon so that you know it triggers a decision.

From my vantage point those leaves are a different color.

Hello Rattkin.
The problem comes when you talk to the Durmand Priory Representative, it doesn’t show the different icon (the “decision triangle” as I like to call it). When you finish talking with him, the game acknowledges that as if you’ve chosen them.

It’s on the Wiki as well -although I didn’t look at it until it was too late: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/A_Splinter_in_the_Flesh

Ah, I see. It could be fixed by now. I’ve skimmed through the dialog options in at least several paths, so I think it’s unlikely that I did not bump into this bug. Still possible, but that chances for it are slim.
