When you unstack an item the object is simply labeled account bound,

It’ll create a new item that is labeled “Account bound on Acquire”, which is normally displayed like this in the store or in banks.

Once the item is unstacked, it cannot be stacked once again. This process is not reversible by placing items in bank.

Place any ‘Account Bound on Acquire’ items in inventory, change maps, stack with others.

Hi everyone,

i have an issue, where my Mystic Clovers dont stack

i had 70 stored in bank, and now i made the rest of 7 for my legendary, but i cant use them because they cant stack together

hope, i dont have to make a new 70 stack^^

Put in inventory, go to another zone, now they will stack. Apply to all new accountbound on acquire stuff.

Experience scrolls (auto to lvl 20) also has this issue. I think it is an issue of where they come from. All of them are account bound but I can’t the two stacks to combine (five and ten). The suggest fix worked with boosters but did not work with the experience scrolls.

It’s a bug that intermittently affects account-bound items of all sorts. The workaround gets everyone past the issue quickly, so the devs have advised using it, pending a fix to the root cause.

So I have double the items I need in my bank.

They are the same exact item, however don’t stack.

The issue is there are items that are ‘Account Bound’ vs. ones that are ‘Account Bound on Acquire’

The thing is, they are the EXACT same item, and those in the bank that are ‘Account Bound on Acquire’ when I move to my inventory, they don’t change to ‘Account Bound’

List of items with this behavior:
- Bank Access Expresses
- Merchant Expresses
- Trading Post Expresses
- Instant Repair Canisters
- Revive Orbs
- Tomes of Knowledge

SUMMARY: Need to fix the bug where ‘Account Bound’ items don’t stack with ‘Account Bound on Acquire’ by making it so moving items from bank into inventory kicks off whatever code triggers making ‘Account Bound on Acquire’ change to simply ‘Account Bound.’ This would then fix all items with this issue.

the account bound on aquire items, put them in your inventory. log off and back on (you can go to character select). they’ll now be account bound

Changing maps works, as well.

Yup I found this bug as well and just swapped Maps and they stacked. Got the info from map Chat while in Hoelbrak when I asked about it there.

Friend got a problem since last patch and it happened to me too today. Not able to stack the exact same kind of item.
Just split up a stack of the same kind and couldnt put it back together =7

Got a ‘Bank Access Express’ from my daily log in reward this evening. Went to put it in my bank with my other BAEs, but they won’t stack. Not sure if this is a “bug” or not, but I thought I’d put it here just in case. I’ve never run into this one (with these) before.

I don’t know whether this is a bug or intended, but you cannot stack “Account Bound” item with “Account Bound on Acquire” items even though they are the same item.

For Example, Tome of Knowledge Account Bound cannot stack with Tome of Knowledge Account Bound on Acquire.

Same thing has happened to me. I make them in 10s but they’ve recently stopped stacking. I’ve noticed one stack says “Account Bound on Acquire” while the other stack says “Account Bound”. Not sure if that’s the reason why they don’t stack anymore.

Place ‘Account Bound on Acquire’ items in your inventory and change maps/log out/in and they will now stack.

This works for most items.

not so much mystic clovers, but in my experience the black lion scraps aren’t stacking, I have about 3 different piles lol

The same workaround can be used for any account-bound items that aren’t stacking properly: put them all in the inventory of one character, change maps (including just logging out/in) and they should stack fine, using ‘compact’ or manually dragging them together.

Account Bound On Aquire and Account Bound. I am having to have 2 stacks of things in my bank. (Everyone knows bank space is a precious commodity). Was this ment to happen or a oopsy? It would be nice to have 1 stack.

FYI this thread now includes several merged threads, so it will appear as if people haven’t been paying attention. The main points are:

• Nearly any account-bound item can become unstackable with items that appear otherwise identical.
• Devs are aware, are working on a fix, but there’s no ETA.
• A reliable workaround for all cases is to place all such items in your inventory and change maps; the items will stack as expected after (‘changing maps’ includes moving to WvW/PvP, logging out the character, etc).

Also, The Mystic Clovers from Kryta Reward Track (PVP) “Kryta Weapon Skins Box” which contains 2 mystic clovers won’t stack with my Mystic Forged Clovers

Got a precursor finally so working towards it. I have 20 Mystic Clovers that are just “Account Bound” and 44 that are “Account Bound on Acquire”. The two kinds don’t stack so the 20 old ones are useless since you need 77 in a stack.

Any way to fix these?

Put the “Account Bound on Acquire” in your inventory and relog. After that you can stack them.

No more information is necessary. ANY stackable item.

Bloodstone Dust has always been account bound.

Indeed. And then splitting it changed it to “account bound on acquire.” The change means it can no longer be stacked with “account bound” items. They are considered to be two completely separate items.

I read about that last week and that doesn’t work at all for me.

Actually, nevermind, I had to do it the the other ones I already had.

@Zerraph and Doggie, glad to hear it is still a functioning workaround and you’re both back to things stacking as they should!

There seems to be some creep into items of the same type not stacking.

Most recently I now have to keep 2 stacks of Merchant Express since I can’t get them to stack.

And worst of all today I got some Mystic Clovers and they won’t stack with my existing ones.

Bad enough that I am limited on bank space, but when items of the same type won’t stack it becomes a problem.

It was a bug introduced in the last patch. There IS a workaround though:

Take both the non-stacking items and put them in your bags. Re-zone (either to WvW or another map) or re-log to/from character select. The non-stacking items will change to stackable again.

Or, just place any ‘Account Bound on Acquire’ items in your inventory, and change maps/log out and they will become ‘Account Bound’.
