Can not ctrl+click an item to send info
That happened to me as well. I wanted to waypoint (a lot… to my friends..), but it does not let me do this. It started after the recent tequatl patch.
I am not 100% sure, but not all characters are affected. Some simply can’t waypoint in whisper chat, some can.
Like you I am able to do it in say an map chat, but just not when whispering. It’s quite annoying.

It still bugs me (as described above) and it is so annoying.
Still cannot waypoint or link items in whisper chat. Some people told me online they have experienced the same.
I just have the problem when I try to link items to people playing on an other server then mine. Linking something to people on my server is working.
That’s quite strange because my affected people (from my friends list) are all on my homeworld… to make it even stranger it does not affect all my friends. Just a few.
And it seems that not all my characters are having this problem. Some can link, some cannot.
What is happening?
Could it be something to do with the LFG feature that they added? I’m having the same issue.
If I have to guess I would say I noticed it the first time ~ 18th of September. That would be the day after the Quatl Update. ^^
EIDT: lol, I just re-read what I posted at the beginning of the thread and saw I already mentioned it started to occur after this particular patch. xD
Anyone know if ANet has any news on this at all yet?

Shall I live with that? Is it now a feature that I cannot link items or waypoint in whisper chat?
Please any reaction if we can expect a fix any time soon or not.. or not at all..
