Constant Crashes after HoT Update
according to them, this has been the smoothest launch in gw history …
People crashing every 2 -10 minutes is just… not acceptable..
PLEASE FIX THE kitten CLIENT
It blows my mind that the developers have not seriously looked into this and Colin has just made a snide comment that is working on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/3qu9us/can_we_get_a_reserved_spot_on_a_map_for/
THIS IS A SERIOUS GAME BRAKING BUG EFFECTING TONS OF PEOPLE IN YOUR GAME. GO SIT IN A DRAGONS STAND MAP AND READ CHAT FOR 10 MIN AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND HOW WIDE SPREAD THIS ISSUE REALLY IS.
THE GAME IS BROKE. FIX IT NOW!
I haven’t been able to do any large event without crashing. I haven’t gotten credit for ANY of it because I can’t get back in my map after I get kicked out, even when Im in a party.
For example, I just lost a full two hours of participation in Dragon Stand. Client crashed a mere 4 or 5 minutes before the event succeeded, and I could not get back to my party in the right map. This was my first attempt at this event.
I understand Anet is working on the crashes…but the game is broken. At a minimum I’d like to get the rewards if I can’t get back in.

RE: The developer’s response on Reddit…
I appreciate the openness of your response…
First thing: Why the KITTEN is your test team ONLY testing on XP 32 bit when you admit that 94% of your player base runs on a 64-bit OS? This seems like a massive professional QA fail. I’ve worked in the game and software industry for over 5 years now and reading this response made me so disgusted at how poorly this game is obviously being tested. Not to mention the fact that XP is no longer even supported or gets any kind of updates… the list goes on…
The problem was not nearly as rampant as it is now in HoT so clearly something major broke and it needs to be addressed as soon as possible. Tell your Producers to divert resources from Living World and other content development streams to fix this game breaking critical issue.
The game is unplayable. I literally almost want my money back at this point too because it is so bombastically bad that the game is not fun, because it crashes every hour and half or so, and is therefore a waste of money.
Every time I crash I send an error report. I run 64-Bit Windows 10 with 12 Gig of Ram so OOM errors should not EVER be an issue since GW2 and Team Speak 3 are literally the only 2 applications I have running aside from your standard Windows processes etc.
This is a serious issue. I appreciate your candidness and frankness about the issue, but it needs to be fixed ASAP and if that means delaying the release of raids for a week, or move resources from Living Story, because we wont even be able to play that new content with the game crashing all the darn time, then do so. I for one would love to actually play the content that’s been out since HoT launched but I cant because every time I do a meta event my game crashes.
To quote Colin “We’ve had an incredibly smooth launch with very few major game issues, despite the huge surge of players back into Guild Wars 2 to play all of the new content and features of the expansion! This will go down as the smoothest launch we’ve had in the history of the Guild Wars® franchise.”

I CALL SHENANIGANS- Fix it, please!
HORRIBLE! So many people spend hours on events only to get knocked out at end due to crash, False advertised game, I will make sure and let this be the experience I share with everyone I know about HoT.
Been having that oom error, I have tried many things to try to stem it and I have had the most success leaving everything at high but lowering textures to medium. This has allowed me to play all night in VB and AB events without a crash. It seems to me that there is something going wrong with textures that is causing this. Maybe I was lucky though but this seems to have worked. My machine should be able to run high no problem so I hope they fix this so I can run on high again so the world does not look like a game made 15 years ago.
Constant crash in WvW after HoT is quite fustrating. What never happened in smaller borderlands/EBG, happens on bigger less populated maps. Literally, the moment any server collides with at least 20v20 its an immediate crash. Which not only happens to only me, but to my guild and other fellow players. Crashes are not limited to WvW. The downtime is also between PvP loading sessions, PVE events such as Vinewrath/Tequatl, engagements versus a fairly large enemy faction. I play on a 64-bit with Win7 as Operating System. I’d very much appreciate it to whomever it may concern that you look into this situation, evaluate the reports made by us consumers to enhance the gameplay we absolutely deserve.
When I start the GW2 client and then go to character selection I crash. This is the report. Hope this helps. My last count is at least 15 crashes in 3-4 days. (It could be more, and that’s not including the crashes when trying to redownload the client.) I know this has been said before, but ArenaNet please just acknowledge you are aware of the situation… I KNOW you have to be working on this, but the silence is not helping.

To quote Colin “We’ve had an incredibly smooth launch with very few major game issues, despite the huge surge of players back into Guild Wars 2 to play all of the new content and features of the expansion! This will go down as the smoothest launch we’ve had in the history of the Guild Wars® franchise.”
HAH. SMOOTH?! what planet is ANET on. this has been the worst managed expansion in gaming history.
keep posting those anet logs guys.. give them data so they can fix this soon!
I’m Argentinian, in my country 100 dollars are 1400 pesos more or less, and for those who have not a clue about how much that’s it… good for you. I got into the game when it was launched free to play and i hadn’t a single error with it. 66% of world exploration and settings on high, amazed by the game… then the expansion came and all my happy faces where LOST. I can’t play the game. If i’m lucky, i can REACH a dungeon and then maybe, just maybe finish it before the game crashes. I can’t do events, can’t do story, can’t be on LA for more than 15 minutes… it’s like a meteor (¿HoT?) hit the game and break it in one thousand pieces. I was not aware of all of you gettings this errors too, and I’m ironically happy that i’m not alone. I’m new at this game, but i never experienced such a BUG in my MMORPG life. It’s not a specific place that crashes, it’s not a item that is broken, it’s the hole game that is broken. All of you that have crashes after 2 hours of playing it’s just becouse you have such an expensive pc (or Mac) that the memory leek you can handle it’s more than ours. And if they say that I must buy a 64 bit pc to solve it, OF COURSE I WILL! and then I will buy a Pony just because Justin Bieber wants it. It’s a shame that i can’t play this game… i met a LOT of good people here. Well, sorry for grammar mistakes and the anger… Hope a solution come soon.
PD: Last part of log error, (i don’t want to login just to wait for a full crash error log)
