Dire Orichalcum recipe missing
Missing soldier’s ori inscription for sale at vendor (as indicated in patch notes) as well.
Ok found Sentinel’s at the guild merchant, but Shaman and Cavalier Ori recipes are others that’s not purchasable … will update with more as I find them.
Edited to add: Rabid and Magi also missing.

Seems like these are supposed to be salvaged from exotics.
Make WvW Eventful! – WvW, 4 years in
Yes, I have 5 lv 80 mesmers – Funny Puns
Get it from the trading post. They’re available so it can’t be a bug. They’re part of the new crafting types like Magi’s, Cavalier’s, Assassins etc. I think they may drop from world bosses, not sure.

A guildie of mine confirmed that you get those new stat inscription by salvaging exotics that has the corresponding stats. Beware however, that you do not get the inscription 100% of the time.

confirming it to.. got 1 and sold due to thinking its a new icon for inscriptions xD well there u go
I have salvaged 4 rabid exotics now with Black lion salvage kits and have not gotten the inscription….
This is just way to expensive, why can’t get get the recipe and craft them like any other inscription?

The same reason why we need to grind our butts off for one ascended weapon. They trust that one day, you’ll be desperate enough to buy gems and convert them into gold.

Same here, and I agree with you. Since ascended crafting was introduced, I’ve salvaged perhaps 15 exotics, using a Black Lion salvage kit, and received only 1 inscription (a Shaman’s… I need a Rabid/ Dire). What I do not understand is why the Rabid/ Dire inscription cannot be purchased… such nonsense.
Additionally, if Anet insist on the salvaging of exotics as the only way to get the materials needed to craft ascended gear, then perhaps they need to increase the drop rate. I do a full Orr temple run each day, and in two weeks I have picked up 2? exotics. In the end, I purchased 3 exotics from the TP with the inscription that I needed, this cost me 6 gold. I salvaged them with a Black Lion salvage kit, and surprise, surprise, no inscription! So, 6 gold down the toilet (not even going to think about how long it took to earn that 6 gold…), I decided to just buy the kitten ed inscription for the bargain price of 5g 30s, when really I ought to have been able to buy the silly inscription with my 4.5 million karma!
Something that bears mentioning: You can’t salvage a Rabid/etc Inscription out of a crafted Exotic, only from named Exotics with those stats.

Thanks for the info, Caittus. Pity the GW2 wiki doesn’t state this- it says “Acquisition: Salvaging exotic Rabid weapons.”
Hey guys; thank you Caittus for informing us that you can’t salvage the inscriptions from crafted weapons. I bought three exotics with no luck for a rabid inscription before coming here, and I’m glad I did instead of risking any more.
I took some time and searched through the exotics on the trading post and after about 400, I found “Trosa’s Short Bow,” a named bow that has the rabid stats. I bought it, salvaged with a Black Lion kit, and voilĂ ! I got the Rabid Orichalcum Imbued Inscription I needed. I’d recommend to anyone in need of a non-craftable orichalcum inscription to search through exotics on the trading post to find one with the proper stats you need. Salvaging them can provide dark matter that you’ll need, too.
Oh, and if you need a Rabid inscription, try searching for Trosa’s Short Bow and salvaging from that. There were 84 available when I bought mine, so that’s 84 inscriptions waiting to be salvaged!

That would be up to 84. It’s not guaranteed, not even with a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
So, hang on – you’re telling me that in order to craft myself an exotic weapon with rabid stats (eg Rabid Pearl Rod), I need to salvage a Rabid Orichalcum Imbued Inscription from an exotic weapon with rabid stats?
…am I missing a simpler recipe, or is there some serious herpdyderp going on here?

This exists so ascended weapons with these stats can be made, it is not for making exotic weapons. Ascended weapons still needs one exotic inscription.
You can salvage them from the weapons sold by dungeon vendors with the wanted stats.
For example, you can get Soldier’s Orichalcum Inscriptions by salvaging Soldier’s weapons sold by the AC vendor.
That’s basically how I leveled my Weaponsmith and Huntsman, without spending too much money. Still got to do Artificer, but need to hoard some dungeon tokens first. All I got left is like 2,000 Arah tokens that I’d rather not spend on leveling crafter.

Salvaging inscriptions from exotics….to craft exotics OR ascended….is ridiculous. Especially with the RNG inherent in salvaging.
Why should these stat sets be so much more expensive to make than any of the others?
I have a hard time believing this was intentional.

Uh … except these are the cheapest inscriptions.

I see your point, but the price on the TP doesn’t necessarily reflect the expense of getting the inscription elsewhere.
I still don’t see why an entirely different method of obtaining the inscriptions was added, when all they needed to do was create recipes for them (perhaps by mixing the fine mats that are required).
It’s a let down to find out that even more RNG is lurking about, this time its needed to craft certain Ascended weapon stat combos! :/
But on the other hand, I just salvaged said Rabid insignia from the “Kevin”, the exotic mace first try with a masters salvage kit.
