Guild Wars 2 is logging in, starting up fine, and whenever I select a character to play the loading screen pops up like normal. Most of the time from there, an error message pops up saying: “The game client lost its connection to the server. Please wait a few minutes before restarting the client and trying again.” The game client then automatically restarts when I press ok.
However, I will rarely log in after a longer than usual loading time. When this happens, I cannot use any skills, and I cannot teleport to any waypoints etc. The chat seems to be fine though, and I can open and search the trading post along with a few other things. Soon after I will disconnect with the same error message from before.
It might have something to do with Divinity’s Reach because the character that is disconnecting is currently in Divinity’s Reach, and if I log in with a different character that is not there it works fine, and I can play like normal. I also tried using a portal in Lion’s Arch to Divinity’s Reach on a different character, and it gets the same error message too. It then logs out to the character selection screen when I press ok. When I logged back on that character they were back in the Lion’s Arch map by the Trader’s Forum Vista. This just started happening recently today.
