I have found the first group of surviors, mobs are supposed to attack but nothing, have logged out several times to try again but to no avail?

I had this happen to me, too. I got it to work by just running in an out of the little area where the first time is, specifically running into the right side of the entrance to the area.

How long did you wait for the attacks to start?
When I did it recently there were some points where it seemed like it stalled but it was just a slow spawn.
