Guild Wars 2

This is 2 minutes just to get to character select. It just sits at a black screen that can’t be tabbed out of. My computer has 16gb RAM, an SSD, and a dedicated graphics card, and it’s never had this kind of problem before. In game, too, seems sluggish, but that’s harder to quantify. 2 minutes to character select is not. What’s going on?

Also when a zone is loading now, the screen will flash to black once in the middle of the loading, which is possibly related.

Rebooting doesn’t help, and it’s consistent, every time I start the game, and every time I load a zone.

I’m on Windows 7 64 bit.

If you were using the 32-bit GW2 client before the update, with no issues, you might consider moving back to it.

I don’t know what client I was using, I never had to choose anything before.

UPDATE: Switching back to the 32 bit client by adding -32 to the launch shortcut fixed it. Thanks.
