So, long time player, bought the game at launch, played GW1 and etc.

Recently came back to the new trait system and was playing my ranger. Finally got 20 skill points to buy the Read the Wind trait, (mind you, I’m not lvl 80 yet, I just wanted to unlock it).

So, I bought it. I used the tome. And now I’m out 3 gold and 20 skill points, and it’s not unlocked. So that’s disappointing.

Is there a way I can get a refund, or at least the feat to unlock? Was this a bug that if you did this before you were lvl 80 it doesn’t actually give it to you?

You can’t use grandmaster traits until you’re level 80. You can buy them at any level, as long as you have the skill points and gold to get them, and you can unlock them. But you won’t be able to use them until 80. Once you hit 80, you’ll be able to use that and any other grandmaster traits.

You won’t be able to get a refund, I’m pretty sure. You could try contacting customer support to see, though. Link is at the top of the page.

But I have other grandmaster traits that are unlocked even though I can’t use them.

I know I can’t use them, but I expected it to show up unlocked. When I look in my traits, and at the trait vendor, it still tells me how to unlock it, or to purchase the item to unlock it. It is not unlocked even though I used the unlock item.

Hm, I see what you mean now. I’m not sure if it’ll show up once you hit 80; I’ve never bought one of the grandmaster traits, I’m afraid. Have you double checked that you actually consumed the tome once it was added to your inventory?

I checked my inventory and it’s not in there anymore. I’ll check my bank I suppose in case I accidentally had that open still, but I don’t believe that’s what happened.

Edit: Checked bank to be sure. It’s just gone and I’m out 20 skill points + 3g, please tell me I can get it back or at least the trait i wanted…
