I was just casually playing the new event and tried to go to the Aspect Arena for the first time. My GW crashed and I thought it’s not a big deal because it wasn’t the firs time. But for some reason my GW folder is now almost empty and the launcher has 0kb in size and is not working. RIght now I’m installing the game from discs again, just wanted to share this.

I could be wrong (I often am), but I believe the problem might be on your end.

Analise your harddrive, as it is possibly malfunctioning/dying.

This sounds a lot more like an anti-virus program wiping out your game than a bad hard drive.

I’d recommend setting your gw2.exe and gw2.dat files as exempt in your antivirus software.

It wouldn’t hurt to also run Scandisk or any other favorite utilities to check your hard drive for errors.

And if you think your hard drive is having issues, it couldn’t hurt to copy and paste a copy of the gw2.dat file to a backup location when you’re done downloading it in case this happens again.

You don’t win friends with Salad.
