Q:

We want to know if it’s an exploit if people hit the guild lord from the hall (1st floor) in Stonemist. People are calling others exploiters without noting a grid on the GL floor.

Is there an official response from AN on this? It really intentional to avoid eternal defenses and force the defense to attack?

To me it is clearly an exploit. The Keep Lord cannot attack back and this totally invalidates a reason to even have a keep lord. There is no point any of the defense if its totally useless. Lets just remove the keep lord entirely and just have the tower control cap?

What about towers? Is it fair that I can shoot a mortar or treb. from another tower or keep and kill the tower lord; no that’s why the Lord regen’s health if that happens.

To me the grid is completely artistic in design.

this makes a lot of sense as it goes against the Gw2 philosophy that if you cannot attack an npc, it should not be able to attack you.. and if the npc can’t attack you, then you can’t attack it.

Just to agree here, if the NPC can’t attack you and you are as you put it avoiding external defenses then I’d have to say it’s obviously an exploit. Simple rules of thumb, if you think you are doing something that may be wrong it probably is wrong. If you are afraid that a GM would suspend you if he/she saw you doing it, it’s wrong. If you have to ask or justify the action it’s probably wrong.

Need AN answer.

Players are suposed to defend the lord, the fact that the lord can’t hit below is irrelevant. If you can see through the fence, so the arrow can pierce it. It’s logical. Makes part of the strategy to avoid tons of arrow carts and balistas spams at the stairs end.

Sorry, but saying it’s “probably wrong” means nothing unless you represent ANet. People should be demanding an answer from ANet, not speculating what they think. That way you can say it IS an exploit (or not) and report it as needed or at least try to educate people on your server correctly. After all, they’re the ones who can ban people and we’re the ones who paid for the game. I know I would bekitten if I get banned for something they didn’t care to reply or fix.

Related to that, I would also like ANet to say something about every area and siege skill effects ignoring walls and floors. Lots of people saying it’s an exploit but every WvWvW you’ll find people using that specific “game mechanism”.
