Did you change your server?
- If you did, it is no mistake. It should be that way.
- If you did NOT change it, it would be a bug.

I did some check on the event points I gathered in influence so far.
1. event points have been awarded since September 9 – before that the history tab shows NO event points given
2. my hero achievemnet tells me I joined 865 events
3. my history tab shows exact 408 events to be awarded
4. this means I didn’t get 457 events (or double that amount as influence)
5. I have lost 4,050 points on login
6. on the other hand I have currently 662 influence points more, than the guild history tab shows me to be winning
This is for anything accumulated up to yesterday: November 27

As the event points are not awarded simultanuously, I have no means to say which events failed to be awarded.
That I didn’t get even half of the event influence points, that I should have received, is very bad.

I am lucky, that there are 2 places where the event participation is tallied. Otherwise I would not have been able to do this math.

All in all I lost somewhere between almost 5,000 or 4,400 influence points until yesterday.

you should get it back. Influence and Guild achievements are serverbound.

Unable to edit/change guild leader. This is a HUGE issue that needs to be addressed, as neither us nor in-game GM’s are able to fix it. Below is the email correspondence related to the ticket I opened:

I’m very sorry to hear about the issue you’ve been having with your guild. I’m afraid we simply do not have a tool that will allow us to edit guild ranks and memberships just yet. We’d be unable to remove the current leader right now.

The only recommendation I could make right now is to post feedback for the developers to see directly if you feel a feature to modify guilds should be implemented in the game for guilds to self-govern. The best way to have your feedback or suggestions for Guild Wars 2 reach someone in development is to post it in a public forum like the Official Forums (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/suggestions), Twitter (#!/GuildWars2), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/GuildWars2), or on a Fan Site. The more people who view and comment on it, the more likely developers will take notice.

Okay, I’d really LOVE your suggestion of getting him to leave the guild if we could just get a hold of the guy. As mentioned in the ticket, he hasn’t been seen or heard of in 2 months and has not responded to any contact method we’ve tried. So, is there not a way for you guys on your end to kick him from the guild, essentially it would do the same as you said in that his rank would change. If he ever returned, we’d certainly get him back in…but it’s like right now we’re getting shafted by his total lack
of care and absence in the guild. It’s not changing the ranks or anything, you’re just kicking him out of the guild, something I’m sure you have a tool for. Please, consider it. thank you.

Right now though we don’t actually have the tools that would allow for us to alter your guild’s roster on our end of things. We would help you out in a minute if we could, but right now the only way to get this resolved would be to ask that player to leave the guild, then re-invite him so that he would be in the proper rank. Other than though there would not be a way to affect a character who has been given the rank of leader. You could do as you mentioned and form a new guild and have everyone transfer to that one, but we would not be able to transfer the name for you right now. Hello,

I’m from X on X server. We formed our guild long ago prior to the game’s launch (originally was on X, but transferred our guild over a month in). As of around 2 months ago was the last time our Guild Leader logged into the game (or our guild website). We’ve tried every means into contacting him, which of no avail, he’s not responded to PM’s, emails, nothing. We’re hoping that nothing serious has happened, but as the same time we think that he’s just abandoned the game and our guild.

Our guild leader’s name is/was X. The current issue is that by the game’s set up in ranks, there’s no way for us as a guild to move him from being the guild leader and get one of our other Officers ranked up to leader as we want to. So is the dilemma, because we cannot do many things we want to do without a solid leader position set up.

So comes to my request from the GM’s of the game:
1) Would it be possible for the GM’s to de-rank our current guild leader X and replace him with a few of our current officers (multiples was our decision to prevent something like this happening again).

2) If #1 isn’t possible, would it be possible to just change our Officer’s rank to allow them to change the rank of those above so that we can manually set X down and others up? Basically it’s a request to change permissions of our Officer rank within the guild since it’s buggy that we cannot do it that way.

3) If neither #1 or #2 is possible and the game’s systems don’t support this (for who knows WHY it wouldn’t considering how well set Guild systems are and all this is would be a bug fix), then would it be possible that IF we had to reform our guild within the game through solid leadership, that we can get the X name right back again so that we don’t loss that?

In GW1 a Guild leader is demoted automatically in favour of another officer if he is absent for a long time (more than 2 month). If there is no other officer the rank of guild leader can be pushed on a normal member through this mechanism.
I guess that such a solution would be sufficient for your current problem.
On the other hand, this is not the “suggestion” forum and your problem is not necessarily to be seen as a bug.

I don’t know. I very much see it as a bug that a Guild Leader is the only person in the entire game that can alter a guild leader status and not even the game’s GM’s can change it. That’s very sketchy and very buggy.

FINALLY switched back servers and my bank is back to normal and everything is right again! Patience was all it took….but i do think they need to focus on the paying to move back because i would have immediately. All in all everything is right again and cant complain thank you crovus and michael for helping calm me down and cool my worries.

I have a question on the guild system, I do not know if it is a bug or not.

I was at the Claw of Jormag Dragon event tonight and saw someone running around with the same guild tag of TLC.

Are tags reserved?
Can any guild use the tag?
Is this a bug with the system that is allowing other guilds to use a tag that has been used?

Guild upgrades and bank reset upon switching server. I had alot of valuable stuff in that bank that took a very long time to collect. I would very much like this to be resolved.

Guild upgrades are serverbound. You will get them back, when you switch to the old server again. If you don’t, you have to accumulate influence on the new server and then you will have to upgrade again. Being on the new server guild upgrades start from scratch again.
If you had taken your time to read some posts in this thread, you would have known this before you did your post.

happened to me i cant invite anyone to my guild and it happend to a friend too.

The new patch did nothing for my influence points. I still get only at maximum 5 of my characters to count for logging in.

To join a guild, open the guild panel, choose the “management?” tab, select the guild from the list, and press the “Join Guild” button. Players can accept invitations to multiple guilds. To leave a guild, select the guild and if you are representing, choose “stand down” then the “leave guild” button will become available.

Each player account can belong to multiple guilds. However, each character may only represent one guild at a time; only that guild earns influence from the character’s actions. In addition, the character only has access to guild features of the represented guild, notably shared storage, buffs, and guild-wide chat. And yet none of these are working the way they should.

Not being able to see list of guilds is least of the problems.

This morning I was going to give it a try and join another guild too; so in one character that I was going to delete later, I stand down and left guild (My own guild) as instructed in Wiki.

I noticed that I still can’t see list of guilds. I wasn’t worried because I was going to delete that character.

After Deleting the character, I logged into another character to add an upgrade to my guild, realizing that my guild is gone!

It is necessary to mention that it was my personal guild and I had to buy Gems, turn it to gold and then turn in to influence to buy upgrades and then wait for weeks to have upgrades in place. All my time and effort that I spend on the guild were gone! and there wasn’t any way to return it.

I reported the problem in Support and received an auto response asking me to download GameAdvisor.exe and check my network connection!
seriously? blaming a UI issue on network connection?

So I came here to report it here. The hint above text box says bold does bold … and for rest of tags look at forum faq. I looked and there are non-sense hints that doesn’t even related to this forum and just copied to have a page full of text.

Anyway I guess using end-user as free beta-tester becomes a common issue in software industry!

I don’t understand what you are trying to say?
I don’t see any tabs other than main tab for specific guild in other characters unless I represent it.
If you create guild with a character and leave it from another character it should not delete the guild!

Like BobSort, my guild is gone?? I am still in another guild, which I wasn’t representing when I logged out yesterday… But my own guild is gone..? Had quite a few upgrades already, so I wasn’t planning on deleting it… Is there a way to get it back?

Logged in today to find my guild is gone. I am currently the only member but when I go to any of my characters there is nothing in my Guild settings. It’s as if I’m not a memeber of a guild! Just for fun I tried creating a new guild with the same name and it says it exists. So it’s there just I’m no longer in it.

When you have your own guild, you can accept being in that guild for any other character that you have on that account. Although you have not invited them, they seem to act as if you invited them. If you did accept and you represent the guild, you will see the guild leader symbol on the membership window whenever you are logged in.
This means that every character of your account IS guild leader, when you are logged in. one singular action made it that way.

I guess, that stepping down from leadership is the one singular necessity to quit the leadership for them all. If there is no other member beside your account, that may be all that is needed to delete the guild.
If that is true, then they should enter a warning and a question like “Do you really want to do this?” But that would be a suggestion.

At the same time it would be nice, if some information about this would be displayed somewhere. For example in the wiki. Currently there is nothing about deleting a guild – I have left a question about this problem on the discussion site of this page:

I am not in the guild I created any more. I am waiting for one of the other members to get back to me to find out whether it is still there or not. I didn’t step down and I didn’t disband it.

Logging in today I am unable to see my guild, the game shows me to be no member of any guild and no emblems on appropriate gear are showing. However, others in my guild I have asked can see me as a member online but not representing the guild.

I submitted a bug report but thought posting here as well might help get it resolved more quickly.

Add me to the growing list. Guild has vanished, can’t access it, can’t see it. As if I wasn’t in one.

I’m having the same problems as the above posters; when I open the guild tab I see only “Create Guild” as an option, though my guildmate sees me as in the guild but not representing.

I created the guild/am leader as well. Very odd.

I am the guild leader. A guild member logged in and saw that I am still in the guild but not representing, but the guild panel does not show me as being in a guild.

I just encountered the same problem with my guild, and we found a temporary way around it.

Our second in command changed my rank to something else and back to the original again, and the guild showed up in the [Guild] window, so I could see it and represent again.

Of course, this would be impossible for a guild leader, but hopefully it will work for any rank below that. Still, I hope they fix guild issues soon!

Shuffling the ranks resolved the issue for me as well. Just had to re-rep and it was fixed.

Well 2 days ago I an started an upgrade in the guild, logged out and was surprised the next day where the whole guild suddenly vanished, it did not show it in game on any of my alts either, I can’t create a guild with the same name again cause it exists and it didn’t show it on the login screen next to the character which guild he represents. Is there some unspoken rule that your guild gets deleted if you have not enough people in it? I spent like 2k influence on it already. Plz fix it.

edit: i asked a guildmate to login and he said that I’m still in the guild and I asked a random person whether my guildtag is on me and it wasn’t.

Others see that I’m in guild but I’m not representing, but I can’t see guild in guild menu. I’m founder of guild so unfortunately I can’t be kick and invite be second leader.

Like Ninus above. I kicked off a guild upgrade, played for a while then logged out. Next time I logged in my Guild had gone. My guild has re-appeared now, and my upgrade is complete. I wonder if it could be something to do with pending/in progress upgrades temporarily making the guild invisible to the people initiating an upgrade?

I am the guild leader and get error code 3040 when trying to invite a new member into the guild. There are only 16 members in the guild and I am currently in no other guild. If it makes a difference, I was in 2 others, but left one a while back and left this one tonight thinking maybe it was interfering with my ability to invite more into mine. I have represented my guild and only my guild from day 1. I have attached a screen of the error for your review. Please get back to me asap because I have people waiting to get in. Oh and by the way, I did try increasing the guild size but it told me I did not have enough members. There are also no unanswered invites.

We are aware of some ongoing issues with guilds, which are causing a variety of symptoms. These can include things like not being able to see that you are in a guild, not being able to make changes to the guild, difficulty accessing the guild bank, and so on. These guild issues are being actively investigated and we have already implemented several fixes that have cleared up many of the problems. However, we know that there is still more work to do and the development team is actively investigating the remaining issues.

In many cases, the problem is temporary and the following actions may correct it:

- Stand down, change zones or log out and back in, then represent the guild again.
- Restart your client entirely.

I tried your suggestions but unfortunately this did not resolve my immediate problem. I will try again, periodically to see if I can “self resolve” this issue. If I find a combination that works, I will notify you asap. If you find a solution, or development resolves it, I trust you will let me and others know. Thanks.

Apparently there have been issues with the error code 3040 since mid September. We’re talking THREE months here. This is a MAJOR problem that warrants immediate attention, but it’s apparently not getting it. Surely something must be known or could have been done in a three month span. I just went from a 50 slot to a 100 slot TS3 (Teamspeak 3) server in anticipation of increasing the guild size so this issue is actually costing me money. Had I known there would be an issue going past just 16 members, I would have held off on the upgrade and waited until these issues were resolved.

Out of nowhere, my guild lost every upgrades it add after yesterdays update.

The activity log goes from creating the guild 2 months ago and inviting one friend to yesterday. The inbetween is completly lost.

I’ll open a ticket but I figured that I could post it here too.

Looking at some of the background and other reports of this error 3040, it appears this is a problem that has been around since mid-September. Being able to invite people into a guild is a key element of this game. This is crippling our progress in many ways. It’s only a matter of time before people start leaving to join larger guilds. Development should have been able to find or do something with this in three months. Please excuse me if I’m not overtly confident this issue will be resolved anytime soon.

Hi I recently logged in and noticed that my guild has lost all its Upgrades and Points…
Everything is gone, yesterday we had 2500 points now we have 70, we had guild armorer bank and we were going for expanding our bank and had just upgraded to lvl 4 architecture… and now its all gone….

Me and some of my guild mates including the Leader changed server to a german one to complete our discoverey of WvW so that we could get 100 procent world discoverey.
Is this the reason everything is gone? cause it was fine when we had just done it….

Influence gathering and guild buildings are serverbound. You change server = anything stays back on the old server. Once you get back, you have it all back too.

@Drako: that applies to you as well.

Two players representing the same guild in a party completing a dynamic event should always get 10 points influence each. However for a long time for some combinations of characters this worked an for some the result was always 2 points each.

The resolution was to change the guild you represent to something else and then back to represent the common guild again. Even though the "name" of the guild that you represent is the same somewhere internally the guilds are handeled as two separate guilds sharing the same information.

I’m unsure if the probem was due to really old characters from the time guild system was a bit unstable or the account transfer to an other world during the first month after game release.
