Jungle Worm is underscaled
“Stop being selfish and attack it before I can attack it.” “Everyone is totally selfish, because I can’t attack it.” “Everyone should wait until I can attack it.”
Seriously, yes, the worm is horribly underscaled – most likely due to the low level area. Same applies for Chief Shaman and Fire Elemental.
Don’t try to fight against the system. Try to fight by following the rules.
In your case: Get your melee weapon or AoE skill and do the same as everyone else. The way the worm is scaled right now, it’s meant to fight like this.

You really should read more carefully… it is not about crying because i do not get loot (because i would if it would work properly)
The problem is that the worm dies BEFORE the event starts and NOONE gets anything, and i doubt doing the same as everyone would fix anything
Got it now?
k? thx! bye (‘-’)/
Thanks for the link, havent found the thread. But the change that is mentioned there is 12 days old, but still (happend trice today) the worm died before the event started.
At least i now know you guys are aware of the problem
Thank you (‘-’)/
To allow QA time to test new changes, most (non emergency) content changes go into the next monthly content update. I made the change right after the March update was finalized, so it will be in an update later this month (assuming it passes QA.)
While you’re at it, Jeffrey, you could probably scale up the difficulty of the chains for Wayfarer’s Foothills’ Maw, Metrica Province’s Fire Elemental, and Queensdale’s Shadow Behemoth. The pre-events all melt under the number of players that currently do them, and the bosses themselves die in something like 30 seconds.

Ah i see i see, thanks for the useful information, guess ill try to get the worm before work or in the night until then.
I can’t confirm the before mentioned problems tho, the pre events might melt away but everyone still gets the bonus chest / boss rewards if they are there in time. But then im not playing on a server that has high population all day long (Kodash)
Greetz and ty again~ (‘-’)/
I agree with Rising Dusk. If anything can be done to tweak the scaling for all of the starter zone boss chains, I think it would benefit everyone who does the events.
When I’m there for the Maw event, for example, there are so many players there that:
A) I can’t see the majority of them due to culling. They pop in and out as I move around during the event. This is really unrelated to scaling, but it’s disorienting at times.
B) Unless you know where they are and immediately attack when they become vulnerable, you won’t even get an auto attack in on the dragon totem, veteran Sons of Svanir, etc.
C) If you help close the portals and/or kill the ice elementals, by the time you run to the shaman, he’s already at less than 30% health.
With the fire elemental and wurm, my guildies will occasionally announce that the event is starting in guild chat. In the 90sec (overestimation) it takes to load into the zone and run to the location, the event is over.
This is on the Kaineng server, which is admittedly high population, but it seems like scaling could handle the high population better than it does right now.
I hope to boost the scaling for some of the other popular events as well, but the large bosses (like the Behemoth, or the dragons) require art and/or engineering work, and can’t be upgraded with a simple content change. They’re on “the list” but I don’t have an ETA for when we’ll be able to update them, sorry!

I would love to see them all reach the difficulty level of the Fire Elemental back at launch.
;P
I managed to kill him with only one other person back when everyone avoided him because his attacks were 1-hit instant death, and felt very proud of myself after, lol.
It would be fun with the amount of people doing the bosses now (while also discouraging them as easy farms) but, “The amount of qqing would shake the foundations of the earth” after such a change.
PS: I Love everything you guys have done with Claw of Jormag
I just want to not have to worry about equipping my fastest attacking weapon and/or spamming AoE/melee attacks since my timing window to hit a lot of the bosses is only a few seconds long, and even then I can’t target the boss half the time. Also lag with people zerging these events due to “dragontimers”, but that’s another thing all together.
I find it’s the worst with Maw.
