Lost My Guild
Sounds like you have two separate things going on based on your description…
The issues with ‘disappearing’ stacks/items when moving from bank to inventory is a kind of ‘lag’ effect. Items sometimes move correctly but become invisible when dropped into inventory, resulting in that slot becoming ‘locked’ or ‘full’ even though nothing appears on screen. The fix is to drag something else into another empty inventory slot, the first item then usually appears. Leaving and re-entering a map also fixes.
The issue with a disappearing Guild is different…and usually means that by accident you left your personal Guild of one. If that’s the case then it’s gone and so is everything stored in it. Support may be able to restore the Guild but not sure they would restore the items in its bank. The only ‘fix’ is preventative, always have at least one other trusted person in personal guilds as a backup against accidentally leaving yourself.
Good luck and submit a ticket to support…they may be able to help out.
Unfortunately, you’re correct in that Anet can’t restore closed guilds, and they also can’t refund what was inside your guild bank. I’m sorry that this happened; that’s really, really sucky.
Thanks for the insight Bbear… and confirmation RoseofGilead…
When I go to rep one of the guilds I’m in (I have 3 total) all I do is change the guild page in the guild panel and hit the rep button to whatever guild I’m switching to and not touch the ‘un-represent’ button as to never run into the situation since it works to go in between guilds by just switching which guild page is up and hitting rep so I don’t have to hit any un-rep button and there for having the chance of hitting the leave guild button by mistake. That’s why I don’t think it was anything on my end. Plus I’m pretty sure a question window pops up if your leaving a guild, asking if your sure, for me the guild just vanished when I clicked rep of my main guild, I almost didn’t notice it gone before I closed the panel. There was in no way any notification.
As for the disappearing stack when moved, I had never heard of that. Didn’t notice the silver ore in my inventory when I was on that second time yesterday, but I have a messy inventory so I might just not have seen it. Will make sure and search for it when I get in game later. Thanks for the heads up with that.
Yeah, figured the data was lost when a guild is closed (or vanishes). Just seriously bummed out about it. Thanks for the confirmation you two though so at least I know.
Yeah, I agree that a confirmation window for that would be great QOL improvement.
Leaving a guild should require typing in the 3-4 letter guild [tag] because it is way too easy to accidentally leave a guild or leave the wrong guild… especially when lag issues hit.
Ikr! But don’t try to throw away a kitten “Box ’O Fun” and not type the name of it exactly (case and all) into the CONFIRMATION box that does pop up for junk/toy items like this or you can’t drop that thing.
Anet… I would like to see a confirmation box implemented like Random Wax Orc said and a 24 hour waiting period if you’re the last person to leave a guild before the guild is just gone for good, please!
OP, I’m very sorry for your situation.

What about people in a guild that uses guild tags with accented letters or other characters? They would have a very hard time typing that.
I thought that it does come up with a warning box if you hit ‘Leave’, though? Often though people automatically hit yes on windows like that without thinking.
@Bbear
Thanks for the heads up about the invisible stacks, I looked again and the silver ore was in my inventory. At least that’s some good news….
Thanks all for the support, yeah I always found the whole thing to leave a guild so easily a bit silly when you have over measures for junk toy items, so they can’t even say a system isn’t in place to change it. That’s a quality of life change that should really have been done ages ago.
EDIT:
Talked with guild wars and seems nothing can be done at all. Was told pretty much to just move on. IDK, i just feel numb about this whole thing.

That’s sux. I heard about one guy that was saving mats up for a legendary and accidentally left his storage guild. I bought a cheap $10 alt account after that and made it co-leader. Saves me a lot of worry that I might accidentally leave my storage guild.
ANet may give it to you.
