After acquiring a few Metabolic Primer’s for their very useful 12 hour food extension, I’ve come to find they don’t work at all once you log out or change character.

Upon logging back into my mesmer, I found that when I ate a new food, it applied at the standard 59m 59s buff, not the 10+ hours it should have. Additionally, I tried to consume multiple different foods and the metabolic primer timer stayed constant, but any of the newly consumed food timers did not adjust to match it.

The first food I ate did match it, and to clarify, I have attached a screenshot showing the time remaining on the 5th food I’ve tried to consume to have it match the Metabolic Primer.

I have to say, this is extremely disappointing given the real money status of the primers and the sizable investment into getting the few I have. The first one is down to a mere 4 or so hours remaining at this point, and it only worked for the 1.5 hours I had the food on the first time, a paltry 30 extra minutes to the 1 hr long consumable buff it gives by default.

Metabolic Primers only extend the time on the first (and only) food eaten while active. You can’t change foods during its active time.

As for logging out and the current food active being canceled, that may be a bug…I would think so.

Please report this from ingame, too. I have reported, and I have seen it posted in the forums several times, but they have not responded.

According to the wording, it should work with anyfood, no matter how much you change your food. But yeh, as of right now, it will only work with the first food you eat right after activating the primer. If you change your food, it will quit working.

It has to be a bug.
