No Yassith choice in fractal drop
Fractals, along with everything else that was introduced before the release of HoT, has not been updated to HoT stat combos.
You are right, it’s an outrage — one of many things I consider sloppy business by Anet.

- Anyone can get ascended drops from fractals
- HoT stats are only available to HoT owners.
Since ANet offers an option to pay a modest fee to destroy a weapon and replace it with the stats we want, it seems unnecessary for them to spend time creating a new mechanic that would allow HoT owners one type of drop down and non-HoT owners another.
It’s up to you if that’s reasonable or outrageous.
It’s only the recipe, so it isn’t probably that bad.
But you can change the stats of ascended armor (exception: doesn’t work with the aqua breather) and weapons in the mystic forge. See here
So you can pull any stats from a chest, or craft an item with the cheapest stats, and then change it to the desired stats – Yassith included. There was a time where crafting a piece with Hronk’s stats and change it to Yassith afterwards was even cheaper than crafting Yassiths directly. I don’t know how it is today, but the prices are probably still in the same range.
I think it is still cheaper to craft most of the original stats as the Yassith and other HoT stats require 25 fulgurite (obi shards, airship oil, leyline spark, auric dust) for each insignia.

That doesn’t really save you anything. It is only a couple silvers difference. The cheapest right now would be using Rabid but even then you save maybe 1g out of the whole set.
The OP asked about why we can’t choose Yassith from Fractal drops. So maybe we can move the discussion to another thread, about which is the most cost-effective method for choosing various stats.

It’s not about choosing or switching stats, it’s about crafting. Sounds rather dumb to craft an ascended with another stats and switch it in the MF when I can just buy the recipe at the master crafter place – which I ended up doing. I don’t think it would be that hard to allow people who have purchased HoT to be able to choose Yassith (or any other HoT spec) in a fractal drop recipe, the same way they can choose it for purchase from the master crafter – probably people who didn’t purchase HoT don’t see that option either. I’m sure it’s just an oversight. I don’t see why the discussion should be moved to a thread on cost-effective methods of choosing stats as my post has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with that.

Are you an official spokesperson for ArenaNet? Your replies sure sound like that, always.
They could reprogram the game so that HoT owners get the chance for such drops in all ascended drop areas. But that would involve additional work, of course.

The one sold by the master crafter has it? That sounds … odd. The armor version only has crusader and marauder for the 4 stat prefix.
Crafting ascended HoT recipes is a joke anyway; you have to make a ludicrous amount of Fulgurite. Just get the exotic recipe and stat change a piece of ascended gear. The ascended recipes aren’t even that difficult to get, so I don’t see the issue here.

The could do a lot of things; they can’t do them all. The question is: which changes are the most important to improving the quality of the game for everyone. In this case, there are easy and relatively cheap alternatives available, so it seems like the “additional work” would be better spent on something else.

You must not read many of my posts then; I’m a fierce critic when they misstep. Recently, I’ve taken them to task failing to offer us gem shop Wintersday sales to spend RL cash on.
