Guild Wars 2

I am leveling my newest character, just opened the character slot today and was excited to work on his story and see what new story lines I got on this Sylvari since I chose some different things than my first Sylvari did.
Unfortunately, at the end of the quest “Called To Service” I am unable to talk to Gavin! He said “My wound weakens me. I need to catch my breath.” and then I was unable to talk to him. I waited for a few minutes and still was unable. I did the quest again later and ran into the same problem again.

I am on the Blackgate server.

My objective was to speak with Gavin. He had the green quest symbol above his head but I was not given the talk prompt (press f to talk).

I am about to try one more time.

Edit: I tried it and this time it worked! I didn’t do anything differently, that I know of, than I did my other 2 attempts. Weird. Thanks for checking it out, even if you didn’t run into the issue.

I’m having this issue today as well. Nothing I do is giving me the prompt. I’ve tried left-click, right-click, F, running away and killing something else. I have no prompt at all when I approach Gavin.

EDIT: Okay, so here’s what happened: I exited the instance and did it over from the beginning. This time, I was very careful not to click on Gavin in any way until the quest prompt said to talk to him, and it worked. I think maybe if you accept the “talk” prompt before the quest asks you to talk to him, it doesn’t let you talk to him again.

Yeah, this happened to me as well. I had to restart it and then it worked.

I just got the same bug. At the first two tries I were not able to talk to Gavin. At the third try I did not talk to him before the end and this time it worked.
I noticed that he was standing at the first two times and when it worked he was kneeling.

This is still ongoing. I tried avoiding talking to him until the end (twice), but that did not work for me. The last time, I made sure to stay ahead of him and got back to the entrance before he did. I think being ahead of him made the difference. When it finally worked, he was kneeling, just as the prior response indicated.
