Accidentally posted on the wrong forum the first time, but here’s the original post:

In short, I leveled, got the mail, went to the instance spot, but nothing. Storyline skipped, nothing on new alts, either. Or….just click the link.

Something similar happened to two of my characters so far, but I thought it was just a bug that was left over from last September’s feature patch that affected really old characters that hadn’t started their PS, because the characters that this happened to me on are well over 2 years old and I noticed one of them had progressed a step without me playing not long after said patch. I posted a topic about it a while back with a recent update about it happening to another character of mine when it reached level 10:

It was working yesterday. I did a key run then. Report as a bug, but I bet that once skipped you’ll not be able to do the first part of the story even if they fix the bug.

Also sadly this, they mentioned in another topic about PS chapter restoration that got removed from the September feature patch that having a reset for the PS is out of their scope; it really sucks and I wish they’d still try and find a way to do it.

First, personal stories are character bound, which is one reason why we can’t change races.

Second, the change to the personal story that was part of the NPE (New Player Experience) added level prerequisite, but failed to update the email trigger. In particular, you now need to be the minimum level for each ‘chapter’ of the story before you can start it, but you can get the email telling you about the next step sooner.

@ReV: you should try to work with Customer Service on this, if you want to confirm what’s going on. Alternatively, tell us which story you most recently completed and what level the affected character is and we might be able to help. You could also look at the wiki, which shows the relevant story steps and includes any level requirement.

@DarkJericho: I don’t think you are experiencing the same issue as ReV and maybe not the same as what Just a flesh wound. I would also recommend contacting Customer Service to get their assistance.

Good luck and please let us know what you discover.

From your original post, it sounds like your personal story is telling you to head to DR, and when you went there, nothing happened? Is that correct? Because I had a similar problem for a character I leveled up with tomes of knowledge, but I found the solution was to exit into queensdale and enter divinities reach manually through the portal, which fixed it for me. I think the reason this bugged out was because I went straight to Lions Arch via the mists and then eventually went to divinities reach by the LA portal, but the storyline is only set to work when you enter through the queensdale map transition.

Hope this helps

Clever idea. Can’t hurt to try (and only costs you a few loading screens).
